Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Nguyễn Phước Bảo Ấn - Dean of the School of Accounting emphasized that SOA’s standing today has been shaped not only by its training programmes, research works and achievements, but also by the capability, character, dedication and contributions of the many generations who have studied, worked and grown from the School of Accounting. The 50-year milestone is therefore first and foremost an occasion to return, to look back and to honour the people, the generations and the values that together built the foundation of SOA today.

Alongside generations of leaders and teachers, the development of the School of Accounting has always been accompanied by a broad network of businesses, professional bodies and partners, both domestic and international. On this 50-year milestone, the School expressed its sincere appreciation to a number of leading businesses and professional bodies representing the partner network that has accompanied and continues to accompany the School. These connections, patiently nurtured over many years, have helped bring professional practice and standards closer to the classroom, enhance training quality, and expand opportunities for learning, hands-on experience and career development for generations of learners.

From this appreciation of the foundations built up by many generations, the programme turned to the story of the road ahead: from that foundation, what values will the School of Accounting go on to create for the future?
In the strategic message “The School of Accounting - From 50 Years of Foundation Towards the Future”, Dr. Nguyễn Phước Bảo Ấn emphasized that developments in AI, data, automation, sustainable development and new societal expectations are reshaping the accounting and auditing profession. In that context, SOA aims not merely to adapt to the future but aspires to help shape it. In the spirit of UEH’s academic leadership, service to society, innovation and sustainable development, he set out three commitments for the road ahead: Creating Knowledge - Developing People - Serving the Future. “Fifty years is the foundation. The future is our responsibility. And what we do today is the bridge between the two.”

Building on the strategic message and giving concrete form to the commitment to Developing People, Dr. Phan Thị Bảo Quyên - Vice Dean of the School of Accounting introduced the SOA Future Talent Alliance. Developed from the network the School of Accounting has patiently nurtured across many generations, the Alliance aims to turn individual connections among the University, alumni, businesses, professional bodies and the public sector into a long-term collaborative ecosystem, centred on the question: “How can we connect the resources we already have in order to create value together?”
In that spirit, the School is working towards building a Digital Collaboration Platform, gradually connecting the needs, resources and opportunities of all parties to form practical partnerships in training, human resource development, research, innovation and professional practice. From the very outset, more than 100 alumni along with professional bodies have confirmed their readiness to join the Alliance.

The 50th Anniversary Ceremony of the UEH School of Accounting brought a day of reunion to a close while opening a new chapter. From the foundation created by many generations, SOA continues to pursue its three commitments - Creating Knowledge, Developing People and Serving the Future - in the spirit of turning direction into concrete action.
The SOA Future Talent Alliance is one of the first steps on that journey - where the University, alumni, businesses, professional bodies and the public sector not only connect, but also share their needs, resources and strengths to create new value: for learners, for each participating party and for the development of the professional community.
