A Visit on University Management Exchange between UEH and NEU: Solidarity - Cooperation - Development

From November 22 to 25, 2024, a delegation of officials and lecturers from the National Economics University (NEU) visited and exchanged experiences in university management with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). With the motto of Solidarity - Cooperation - Development, NEU and UEH have maintained a good tradition for nearly 50 years working together to build and develop sustainably.

This year, the visit of the NEU delegation at UEH became even more meaningful as it took place in the context of marking the remarkable development steps of both units; in other words, the successful transformation into University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and National Economics University operating under the model of "Multidisciplinary University".

The NEU delegation includes Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Duc Tho - Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - President; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong - Vice President; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu - Vice President; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chairman of the Advisory Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Do Thi Hai Ha - Rector of the College of Economics and Public Management; Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Van Loi - Rector of the School of Business; Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Rector of the School of Technology; along with lecturers and leaders of departments, faculties, institutes, and centers affiliated to NEU.

Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of the Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Vice Rector of UEH College of Business (COB); Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Rector of COB; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Rector of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG); Dr. Tran Thi Tuan Anh - Vice Rector of CELG; Assoc. Speaking at the opening of the program, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - remarked: “On behalf of the UEH leadership, I would like to congratulate NEU on your recent proud achievement of officially becoming a University according to the Prime Minister's decision on November 15. UEH and NEU are two prestigious and quality research and training universities at two ends of the country. We have always been close and supported each other since our establishment and throughout the development process until today - when both sides have officially become multidisciplinary uiversities. Continuing and promoting this fine tradition, the relationship between UEH and NEU will certainly become closer in the future ”.

Touched by the warm welcome of UEH, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - President of NEU - sincerely thanked the lecturers of UEH and affirmed that NEU always appreciated the long-term and solid cooperative relationship between NEU and UEH.

“It must be affirmed that the relationship that UEH and NEU have built over the past 50 years is completely special. We are not only friends but also brothers and accompany each other in all activities. Especially in the process of transforming into a university, NEU has learned a lot of experience from UEH. In the upcoming journey, we will certainly face many challenges in the new university model and the changing context of the world, I believe that the combination of two schools at two ends of the country in the spirit of being willing to share and to exchange experiences with each other will help us take the right steps in the future ” - Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong emphasized.

At the beginning of the working trip, the two sides attended the Seminar on “Exchanging experiences in university management” to share experiences in organizational structure and training. In addition to the program in Ho Chi Minh City, the delegations of UEH and NEU will attend a seminar to share experiences in establishing and organizing the activities of the UEH Vinh Long Campus in Vinh Long.

Over the past 50 years, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and National Economics University had a close relationship, together building, growing and developing to become two leading institutions in the fields of economics, business and management in Vietnam. This good traditional relationship has been maintained and nurtured by many generations of leaders of UEH and NEU through practical activities every year. We believe that in the future, the cooperation between UEH and NEU will grow stronger, together contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
