Alumni Dormitory Day 2026: An Emotional Journey Back to the 2nd Home

In the atmosphere of anticipation towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the Alumni Dormitory Festival 2026, themed "Embracing Belonging - A Journey Back to the Shared Home," took place over two days, June 13-14, 2026, at UEH Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh, bringing meaningful reunion moments for generations of former resident students.

The Alumni Dormitory Day "Embracing Belonging - A Journey Back to the 2nd Home" is part of a series of 22 key activities linked to the 8 heritage values forged through 50 years of UEH's history. Beyond being an occasion for former dormitory students to return and experience the new-generation UEH Green Living Hub, the program also opened up a space for connection between generations of students, alumni, and the UEH community through a series of experiential activities, sports exchanges, and cultural performances.

From the very first hours, the UEH Green Living Hub campus was bustling with the atmosphere of reunion. After many years apart, smiles upon meeting friends and teachers created a warm and intimate ambiance. Many alumni also had the opportunity to visit the photo exhibition, reflecting on the dormitory's development journey and leaving messages and memorable keepsakes for the shared UEH home.

Notably, through the 50-Year UEH Gratitude Portal at wish.ueh.edu.vn, generations of alumni have sent their wishes, stories, and sentiments to UEH, creating a meaningful gratitude space towards the 50-year milestone.

One of the highlights of the day was the sports exchange activities. Lively football matches, pickleball competitions, and SUP races brought energy to the event. On the playing field, the gap in time seemed to blur as generations stood together, cheered, and competed with determination and enthusiasm.

After lunch, the Talkshow "From the Dormitory to the Wider World" became a special space for alumni to share their journeys of growth from their days living in the dormitory to their milestones in work and life. Sincere stories and practical insights inspired current dormitory students, while affirming the enduring value of the living, learning, and training environment at the UEH Dormitory.

Following the program was a tour of the UEH Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh campus. Many alumni expressed their emotions upon witnessing the transformation and development of the facilities, while gaining a deeper appreciation of UEH's efforts in building a modern, green, and sustainable learning environment for students.

On the evening of the first day, the Gala night was the emotional highlight of the entire journey. In the cozy atmosphere of the UEH family, generations of alumni enjoyed the artistic performances, shared beautiful memories, and reflected on the day's activities.

The program also honored individuals and groups who left interesting impressions, from the earliest check-in, the dormitory rooms with the most attending members, to the standout faces who kept the program's atmosphere lively. Concluding the Gala night, the campfire activity and musical exchanges brought deeply emotional moments. Gathered around the campfire, generations of alumni sang familiar dormitory songs and chants. The generational gap dissolved, and all united in the warm and friendly atmosphere of the UEH dormitory family.

After the exchanges, the alumni continued their experience with an overnight stay at the UEH Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh dormitory, where the journey back to the shared home became more complete as memories of the past were relived in a familiar space that had donned a new appearance.

On the morning of June 14, the alumni began their new day with an on-campus jogging activity and followed international sports moments together. In the fresh air of UEH Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh, the footsteps, conversations, and cheerful laughter brought positive energy, starting the day with a healthy and inspired spirit.

After a warm breakfast, the alumni completed their check-out procedures and officially concluded their meaningful return journey with friends, teachers, and the beloved dormitory home.

More than a historical reunion, the Alumni Dormitory Festival 2026 was a journey connecting the past and the present, an occasion to honor the teachers, staff, and the University who have always accompanied and created a valuable learning and training environment for students, while opening up a space for meeting, sharing, and inspiring between generations of Alumni and students.

Above all, the moments of the two days and one night continued to affirm the spirit of solidarity, community responsibility, and pride in the shared UEH home. Though time passes, the dormitory remains a place preserving beautiful memories, a meeting point to return to, and a bond strengthening the UEH community, together continuing to write new journeys in the future.
