Announcement and Appointment of Leadership Roles: Vice Rector of UEH College of Business, Dean of the School of Accounting, and Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Training

On March 3, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) held a formal ceremony to announce and to present appointment decisions for key leadership positions, including the Vice Rector of UEH College of Business, the Dean of the School of Accounting, and the Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Training. These appointments, in alignment with UEH’s overall development strategy, ensure the completion of the leadership team for the 2020 – 2025 term.

Overview of the Appointment Ceremony

The ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished UEH leaders, including: Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đông Phong – Party Secretary, Chairman of the UEH Council, Prof. Dr. Sử Đình Thành – President of UEH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Quang Hùng – Vice President of UEH, Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Quốc Bảo – Vice President of UEH, Dr. Đinh Công Khải – Vice President of UEH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thị Bích Nguyệt – Chairwoman of UEH Advisory Council. Additionally, the event gathered representatives from the university’s executive board, the Office of the President, and Leaders from the School of Accounting, UEH College of Business, and the Department of Training, along with Faculty members, staff, and interested attendees.

During the ceremony, UEH formally announced and presented decisions regarding leadership assignments:

Reassignment and Appointment of the Permanent Deputy Chairperson of the Department of Training: The Party Committee reached a unanimous decision, and the UEH President officially signed Decision No. 766, approving the reassignment of Dr. Đinh Thị Thu Hồng, currently Vice Rector of UEH College of Business (2020 – 2025 term), to the position of Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Training at UEH for the same term.

Simultaneously, Announcement No. 462/TB-ĐHKT-PTTCNL was issued, assigning Dr. Đinh Thị Thu Hồng to undertake the responsibilities of Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Training, effective March 1, 2025. This role will be fulfilled while awaiting the formal appointment of the new Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Training in accordance with university regulations.

Announcement of Decision by UEH College of Business: The Party Committee has unanimously approved, and the President of UEH has signed Decision No. 768 regarding the transfer and appointment of Dr. Trần Anh Hoa, Dean of the School of Accounting, UEH College of Business (term 2020-2025), to the position of Vice Rector of UEH College of Business under the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) for the 2020-2025 term, effective from March 1, 2025.

Concurrently, to ensure the continuous leadership of the School of Accounting, the President of UEH has assigned Dr. Nguyễn Phước Bảo Ấn, Vice Dean of the School of Accounting (term 2020-2025), to take on the role of Acting Vice Dean of the School of Accounting, effective from March 1, 2025.

In her speech upon accepting the new position, Dr. Đinh Thị Thu Hồng expressed her deep gratitude to the UEH Board of Management, Faculty leaders, colleagues, and especially the COB Office for their continuous support over the past two years. She also extended her thanks to the UEH Party Committee and leadership for entrusting her with this responsibility.

Facing new challenges in her role, Dr. Đinh Thị Thu Hồng pledged to continuously learn and to put forth her best efforts to fulfill her duties, contributing to UEH’s overall development. She also hopes to continue receiving guidance and feedback from senior Faculty members as well as fostering close collaboration with colleagues to build a strong and dynamic educational environment.

At the ceremony, Dr. Trần Anh Hoa also expressed her deep appreciation for the trust placed in her by the UEH leadership in assigning her a new role. She considers this an honor and a source of pride to be able to accompany UEH, an environment where every member is dedicated to contributing to its overall development. With a strong sense of responsibility, Dr. Trần Anh Hoa is committed to continuously learning, quickly adapting to her new duties, and sharing her experiences with the newly appointed Head of the Accounting Faculty to ensure stability and development in line with the university's strategic direction. She also expressed her desire to continue receiving support and feedback from colleagues to fulfill her assigned responsibilities effectively.

Speaking at the assignment ceremony for newly appointed and assigned faculty members, Prof. Dr. Sử Đình Thành, President of UEH, emphasized that this is a crucial adjustment during the university’s transition period. The appointment of new personnel is essential to ensure stability and development in training and admissions for UEH College of Business as well as the School of Accounting.

Accordingly, he highlighted three key responsibilities for the new leaders: Firstly is to maintain and further develop the activities of their respective units. Secondly is to grasp legal regulations and UEH University’s strategic direction to effectively implement plans, especially in enhancing the quality of education. Thirdly is to uphold a spirit of unity and to foster close collaboration among departments to ensure stability and growth during this transition phase.
