Appointment Decision and Declaration Ceremony of Professor Title 2021

On the afternoon of May 09th, 2022, at the Auditorium A.103, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly organized the Appointment Decision and Declaration Ceremony of Professor Title 2021 for lecturers acquiring the Professor Title.

Attending the Appointment Decision Ceremony of Professor title, in terms of the Heads of UEH, were Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of UEH Council and UEH Professor Council. Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Policy and Strategy Advisory Council, Dr. Bui Quang Viet - Chairman of the Union together with the presence of Heads of Member Colleges, lecturers who are members of UEH Professor Council, leaders and employees of School of Management, School of Economics, International School of Business, and officials as well as laborers participating in congratulating 4 new Associate Professors.

The overview of the ceremony

The process of accrediting the standards of the Associate Professor and Professor Title in 2021 started in March 2021. After the implementation of the accreditation in the councils at local, provincial, and governmental levels, on March 30th, 2022, the President of the Professor Council signed the Decision 16 acclaiming the approval of the Associate Professor and Professor title in 2021 for 363 Associate Professor-eligible lecturers in which 04 lecturers are currently working for UEH.

During the ceremony, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH read the decision of appointment for the Associate Professor title for 04 lecturers of UEH including

Dr. Le Nhat Hanh - Head of the Department of Research Methodology, School of Management, UEH College of Business;
Dr. Tran Dang Khoa - Head of the Department of Strategic Management, School of Management, UEH College of Business;
Dr. Vo Tat Thang - Vice Dean at School of Economics, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government;
Dr. Doan Tuan Anh - Lecturer of the International School of Business.

Remarking on her emotion on the process of making efforts and her orientation in the upcoming time, the new Associate Professor Le Nhat Hanh said: “To acquire these achievements, I am so thankful to the Heads of UEH who inspired, facilitated, and led me to try. This is a considerably long process for me and getting this step is genuinely emotional which I might be unable to attain without your encouragement. My thanks to all UEH members! In the upcoming time, I will continue trying my best to accomplish well my tasks and hope to contribute more to academic research and the international publication of UEH. Hopefully, if possible, I am ready to share and lead young lecturers to make them as passionate about research as me to contributing to the research of UEH. We will together contribute more greatly to the process of internationalization of UEH. I hope that in the near future, each member of UEH will become a global lecturer when everyone can discuss, teach, and research scientifically in all universities around the world”.

Appreciating and recognizing the endless efforts of lecturers during the working, teaching, and scientific research process, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong delivered his congratulation speech, and simultaneously, assigned new missions to new Associate Professors in the new era: “On behalf of the Board of Management of UEH, I recognize and congratulate new Associate Professors. I hope that with the new title, you will continue making efforts and promoting your roles and strengths. Do use our specialized knowledge to solve the realistic issues of Vietnam. Besides, I expect the lecturers receiving the titles to supervise your colleagues as a family of UEH to do scientific research. In the upcoming time, the Board of Management of UEH and Member Colleges will have policies to encourage the lecturers to conduct their scientific research as well as promote international relations, connecting to external human resources for the development of UEH. We cannot lonely develop but have to connect with the world and external resources for the development of UEH in accordance with the competence of each person. Through the responsibility of each person, we have to well accomplish the job of operating at the department/ school/ institution levels, especially creating the solidarity which contributes to the general development of UEH. Finally, 04 new Associate Professors with more than 800 UEHers must maintain their solidarity to together make efforts to make University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City develop strongly in the domestic and international markets and develop sustainably”.

The lecturers appointed to the Associate Professor title will supplement the high-quality human resources serving the education and training career of UEH. Hopefully, the lecturers will keep making more efforts in teaching, doing scientific research, and managing the university to make the strategy of developing UEH into a research-oriented university reputable in the Asian region come true.
