Career Orientation Day

On the morning of March 25th, 2022, at Campus B (279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ward 5, District 10, HCMC), UEH School of Foreign Languages collaborated with corporates on organizing the Career Orientation Day. This event aimed to equip students with necessary vocational skills and experiences as well as to provide important information regarding professional tendencies and advanced learning opportunities for students graduating in this period. The program received lots of concerns from students of diverse majors.

Attending the event was the participation of Mr. Harry Ngo - Director of the Southern Region, Global Professional Orientation and Education Consultancy GSE, Ms. Chi Nguyen - Admission Representative of Nottingham Trent University, Mr. Pham Binh Phuong Duy - Director of Talent Mind Education and Lecturers of UEH School of Foreign Languages.

In the opening session, MA. Bui My Ngoc - Vice Dean of School of Foreign Languages - delivered his congratulation speech and emphasized on professional opportunities this event would bring to UEH students. Through this Career Orientation Day, School of Foreign Languages expected its students to find jobs matching their interests, companies to intern, participate in Business Semesters, and opportunities to acquire scholarships for postgraduate programs as well as short-time cultural exchange courses.

Overview of the Opening of the Career Orientation Day

The program included 2 Talkshow sessions and a Mini-fair. The first Talkshow was presented by Mr. Harry Ngo - Director of the Southern Region of GSE. He shared to students the current professional tendencies, opportunities and suitable jobs for UEH students, specializations, soft skills and experiences that students can apply to seek jobs after graduating. After that, Ms. Chi Nguyen - Admission Representative of Nottingham Trent University - talked about the essential experience and knowledge required to have to study at the postgraduate level for students desiring to continue studying after graduating from the first cycle. In addition to theoretical sharing, speakers gave realistic case studies to students to visualize more specifically the process of seeking jobs for themself. 

The second Talkshow session was hosted by Mr. Pham Binh Phuong Duy - Director of Talent Mind Education. This session introduced to students professional opportunities in the field of Edtech in Vietnam. The speaker shared his realistic knowledge, gave particular figures, and engaged the attraction of students in the auditorium. All activities of this Talkshow were extremely ebullient, students listened interestingly and inquired to interact well with the speakers.

After the presentation and Q&A sessions, students moved to Lobby B1 to take part in mini-games and a mini-fair. Mini-fair is an exhibition showing studying abroad programs for those who prefer studying in other countries. 08 universities from the UK and Australia introduced their study programs and were ready to consult students concerning, in which potential partners of School of Foreign Languages for academic student exchange programs in the upcoming time are included.

Career Orientation Day engaged lots of concerns of students from different majors of UEH. This is the first event School of Foreign Languages cooperated with partner corporates to hold, marking a milestone of success to proceed to the following years. School of Foreign Languages will expand the scale and connect with more and more companies for students to approach knowledge and learn new soft skills from practical and useful sharing of speakers.

In addition to the target of training high-quality human resources, responding to the demands of the market, the development strategy of UEH is to always promote activities connecting with reliable organizations, units and enterprises to extend the network of knowledge and careers, therefore, bringing open study and career opportunities to each UEH students.
