Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Training Course on "Executive Management Skills" for Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company - Fahasa

On September 25, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company - Fahasa solemnly held the Closing Ceremony and certificate awarding for the "Executive Management Skills" training course for middle-level managers of Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company - Fahasa.

Overview of the Closing Ceremony

Attending the Closing Ceremony, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company - Fahasa, there were Mr. Pham Minh Thuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Pham Nam Thang - General Director; Ms. Le Thi Thu Huyen - Deputy General Director; Ms. Pham Thi Hoa - Deputy General Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phung - Deputy General Director and Mr. Ho Cao Trong - Deputy General Director, along with 50 learners who are leaders of member units and planning positions participating in the training course.

On behalf of UEH, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Standing member of the Party Committee, Chairman of UEH Union, Lecturer of the course; Mr. Truong Minh Kiet - Head of UEH Department of Marketing and Communication; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Son - Deputy Head of UEH Department of Undergraduate Training and lecturers involved in teaching and managing the course.

Speaking at the end of the course, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President of UEH remarked: "Implementing the strategy of Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University, taking the sustainable development of society as the destination, in addition to building and implementing training in strong and new fields according to contemporary development trends, UEH also pays special attention to building short-term training programs to update knowledge for leaders and managers at all levels of many organizations, units, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, financial institutions, etc. Continuing the journey of spreading this knowledge, as well as receiving the trust of Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company (Fahasa), UEH has cooperated with Fahasa to open the training course on Executive Management Skills - Fahasa 2024 for middle-level managers and achieved very positive results, contributing to the development of the company in particular and the country in general."

The course was organized from May 20, 2024 to September 25, 2024. The training program is designed to include 17 topics, 33 sessions and is divided into 03 main parts: (1) General management; (2) Functional management; and (3) Management - operation skills. In particular, UEH has developed a new training program, applied the latest legal regulations and invited lecturers with knowledge and practical experience to participate in teaching; prepared facilities for classes, and applied technology in organizing and managing the classes.

Besides, with the spirit of learning and the efforts of the students, more practical plans have been proposed, implemented and evaluated excellently, including:

- Summer peak season business plan (June, July, August) in 2025 at Fahasa bookstore system in Ho Chi Minh City;

- New product business plan: sports equipment and exercise toys at Fahasa bookstore system;

- Perfecting retails at Fahasa bookstore;

- Fahasa brand positioning.

At the end of the course, all students met the requirements and were awarded a certificate of completion by UEH, with 25 learners ranked Excellent, 12 learners ranked Good and 13 learners ranked Fair.

Commenting on the course, Mr. Pham Minh Thuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fahasa – stated: “For Fahasa, learning is considered an investment of the organization. With a team of 4/6 senior leaders of the company who are all alumni from UEH, I myself am also an alumnus of the UEH Planning Batch 5 and a former graduate student of the UEH Batch 6, who was professionally and systematically trained; therefore, the planning, expertise and work requirements at Fahasa are very high. The work is organized scientifically and consistent with the modern corporate governance model. One of the basic principles of the company is to respect the leaders and managers when they have dedicated to and accumulated experience at Fahasa for many years. That is the reason why the company constantly invests in training activities, improving the qualifications of long-term leaders to catch up with the technology in the new era. Through the training course, the trainees have accumulated basic knowledge, methods, and thinking as well as the steps to implement plans and make decisions. We need to turn the knowledge that teachers have taught into skills, abilities and apply them to specific work, with scientific and effective methods, approaches and plans."

In addition, the lively group discussions, enthusiastic lectures, orientations and stories regarding life, career, and interesting real-life examples from the teachers have helped the learning process become more practical and colorful. With what has been learned, we do believe that each learner will have a creative way to apply it to their work, improve management capacity, quality and efficiency of work, and contribute more to the success of Fahasa in the future. That is the best thing that the Board of Directors of Fahasa, the lecturers, and all the learners expect.
