COB Seminar: "Application of ai tools in higher education"

To provide an in-depth and comprehensive perspective on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in teaching and learning, as well as the opportunities and challenges that AI presents, and to create opportunities for sharing experiences in the effective use of AI tools, UEH College of Business organized a series of periodic seminars on the topic "Application of AI Tools in Higher Education" on September 23, 2024. The program attracted participation from many lecturers, fostering a space for sharing, exchanging, and discussing new trends and the potential of artificial intelligence in the field of education.

Representing UEH College of Business were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang, Associate Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Thu, Vice Dean of School of International Business - Marketing and interested lecturers from UEH.

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Tang Minh Dung provided an overview of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd), which is a field focused on the research and application of AI technology in education. AIEd includes the development of systems and tools that utilize AI to support the teaching and learning process. Additionally, Dr. Dung discussed the potential of AI to enhance learning and research experiences, as well as the diverse applications of AI technology in education, ranging from the development of personalized learning systems to using AI for data analysis and optimizing teaching and research processes. The speaker also offered detailed guidance and specific examples of AI applications that support teaching and learning.

One of the highlights of the seminar was the lively discussion between the speaker and attendees, sharing practical experiences and discussing challenges in integrating AI into teaching. Many participants noted that applying this technology not only improves learning effectiveness but also creates more engaging learning experiences for students. However, to effectively utilize tools and fully realize the potential of AI, users need to enhance their knowledge and self-training, ensuring that AI usage adheres to ethical principles and protects privacy and data.

The seminar concluded on a positive note, filled with many new ideas. The knowledge and information shared will contribute to fostering innovation in teaching and learning methods at educational institutions. In the upcoming period, UEH College of Business plans to continue organizing monthly seminars with the aim of bridging the gap between theory and practice, providing opportunities for multidirectional sharing and exchange between lecturers and students.
