Conference on Review of UEH Union Activities in the First 6 Months of 2024 and Implementation of Programs in the Last 6 Months of 2024

On the morning of July 4, 2024, at Hall A.103, UEH Union organized a conference on the review of UEH Union activities in the first 6 months of 2024 and the implementation of programs for the last 6 months of 2024.

Attending the conference were Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union, members of the Executive Committee of UEH Union, members of the Inspection Committee of UEH Union, members of the Executive Committee of Unions of member colleges, union officials of Departments and affiliated union groups.

Overview of the Conference

Presenting the summary report of the Union's activities in the first 6 months of the year and the implementation of programs for the last 6 months of 2024, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of the UEH Union - emphasized that with the direction and the support of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of UEH, the superior union, the Board of Directors of member colleges, leaders of UEH-affiliated units, the Executive Board of the Union and all union members, civil servants and employees, many activities have achieved excellent results. These efforts have been well implementing UEH’s key goals and strategies and contributing to the overall development of UEH.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Union organized programs with diverse topics and received enthusiastic participation from UEH officials and employees, including

1. Participating in organizing the UEH-level Conference of officials and employees in 2024;

2. Organizing a conference to summarize activities in 2023, in which many important achievements are recognized;

3. Organizing gift awarding to 414 retired lecturers and officials with a budget of 414 million VND; visiting and giving gifts to 24 families of deceased officials, employees and retirees with a budget of 12.5 million VND; gaving Tet gifts to 924 officials and employees with a total budget of 92.4 million VND on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024;

4. Coordinating with UEH to organize the program "Spring of Love", giving Tet gifts to disadvantaged people in Phong Phu commune, Binh Chanh district on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024 with an amount of 200 million VND.

5. Training 85 union officials of the unit for the term 2023 - 2025 with “Unanimously and creatively with Multidisciplinary and Sustainable UEH” theme in Vung Tau City;

6. Organizing an activity series to celebrate International Women’ Day on March 8: Health screening program to prevent stroke for female employees and officials in collaboration with Ytech Company Limited; Congratulating and giving flowers and gifts to units with female union members;

7. Organizing the UEH Staff and Employee Art Performance 2024. The performance will be held in 2 nights (May 16 and 17, 2024);

8. Organizing a cultural exchange program with the participation of more than 100 children of officials and employees, and implementing activities for children of officials and employees;

9. Organizing a seminar series on "UEH Sustainable Development - Current Inevitable Trend";

10. Coordinating with the UEH Women’ Advancement Committee to organize the program “Eye screening for officials, employees and families”;

11. Summarizing and reviewing the emulation and the rewards for unions in 2023;

12. Participating in Competition Block 2 activities in the academic year of 2023 - 2024.

Promoting the enthusiasm of the past 6 months, UEH Union announced new programs scheduled to take place in the last 6 months of 2024 with activities of celebrating the 95^th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024), commending “Our Union Officials” in 2024, improving sustainable action capacity, fostering UEH culture for each individual; and spiritually serving officials and employees. In addition, the Conference collected comments on the set of emulation and commendation criteria for Union activities in 2024.

UEH Union is an active and pioneering unit striving to compete and make efforts to serve officials and employees at UEH. Promoting the achievements in the first 6 months of the year, the Union will continue performing the assigned key tasks well, contributing to the roadmap for implementing the multi-disciplinary and sustainable restructuring of UEH.
