Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang has worked with a delegation of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) led by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong (Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council). UEH is a multidisciplinary university under the Ministry of Education and Training, one of the national key universities, and one of the leading universities in the field of economics in Vietnam. UEH is also a pillar in the higher education system of Vietnam, and a center for economic policy research and management for the Government and large enterprises.
Over half a century of development, UEH has trained numerous generations of officials, civil servants, and public employees, many successful businessmen, politicians, and famous leaders of the Government, meeting the supply of high-quality human resources for the innovation and development of the country. The University is judged by many prestigious rankings in the world as one of the leading universities specializing in economics and business.
UEH has 3 strong programs, including postgraduate programs with 2 master's majors; research and consulting for local socio-economic development (SEDP) on 04 themes; and short-term training with 12 programs. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong emphasized: "The University is looking forward to sharing and expressing responsibility for the development of the Mekong Delta and An Giang province, especially in the condition that the whole country is focusing on promoting economic growth".

The Provincial People's Committee issued a plan for training and fostering officials, civil servants and public employees in the province in 2025. Its purpose is to provide officials, civil servants and public employees with knowledge, skills and methods to perform tasks in public services, professional activities, and standards for leadership and management positions, contributing to building a team of professional officials, civil servants and public employees with good moral qualities, political will and capacity, meeting the requirements of serving the people, socio-economic development, international integration and the 4.0 Industrial Revolution as well as enhancing the ability to work in an international environment, implementing administrative reform targets and objectives, fostering knowledge, raising awareness, train skills and developing human resources for national digital transformation, promoting training according to job requirements, implementing the training and fostering goals of officials, civil servants and public employees set out in the programs and the projects of the government and the local authorities.
The number of officials, civil servants and public employees in the Province is 37,718, in which, those with Master's degrees or higher are 2,804 (accounting for 7.43%). Comparing the training and development programs, research contents, socio-economic development, and consulting with UEH's strengths and the training and development plan for officials, civil servants and public employees in the Province in 2025, and the human resource development plan in 2025 of the different fields, An Giang proposed many contents that can be cooperated with UEH.
Specifically, the province needs to foster management and administration skills on green growth for officials, civil servants, and leaders and managers; foster and train the implementation of legal documents guiding the financial autonomy mechanism, financial management, and accounting of provincial-level administrative units; provide information training for socio-political organizations on digital government, digital economy, and e-citizenship, etc. As for postgraduate courses, the Provincial Party Standing Committee will have specific implementation policies.

At the meeting, leaders of UEH and An Giang Province, Departments and Services discussed and agreed on the program as well as the assigned focal points to coordinate the implementation of these contents. According to the alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung, to achieve the growth rate in 2025 in the upcoming period, An Giang focuses on many tasks, especially on economic restructuring. Therefore, cooperation with UEH is of great importance to criticizing and advising on socio-economic issues; consulting on green transformation, developing a circular economy, and researching solutions for developing a border trade economy to help the Province improve their development index.
Highlighting the crucial contribution of UEH in training human resources of the province in recent times, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee - Le Hong Quang – stated that the session at the beginning of the new year was very practical, being a good premise for developing cooperation in the upcoming time. He hoped that the cooperation will be better. After the meeting to seek agreement on this policy, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial People's Committee, Departments and Services, according to their functions and tasks, to continue to discuss with UEH in selecting training and research programs and obtaining consensus on implementation in the upcoming time.
