Graduation Ceremony - Class of 2021 for Vietnam - the Netherlands Programme (VNP)

On March 13th, 2022, UEH organized a Graduation Ceremony for Vietnam - the Netherlands Programme (VNP) - which trains Master of Science in Applied Economics MAE, Double Degree Programme DDP for 22 new Masters. This is a training cooperative programme between UEH and Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Graduation Ceremony for Vietnam - the Netherlands Programme (VNP) - training Master of Science in Applied Economics MAE, Double Degree Programme DDP was held at the auditorium B1.302 at UEH 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong Campus.

Attending the Ceremony, in terms of UEH, were Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH, Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Deputy Head of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government, Director of VNP, Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of JABES, President of Academic Council of VNP, Assoc. Prof. Ho Viet Tien - Director of UEH Graduate School, and lecturers administrating and lecturing at the programme.

Especially, the programme honorably welcomed Mr. Frank de Laat - Deputy Ambassador, Netherlands Embassy.

Stating to open the ceremony, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH remarked on achievements that Vietnam - the Netherlands Programme (VNP) has obtained during the past time, simultaneously, complimented on the efforts of new Masters, and expressed a belief that they will succeed in their work and life thanks to the foundation of VNP Programme.

Mr. Frank de Laat - Deputy Ambassador, Netherlands Embassy appreciated the history of cooperation in 28 years of UEH and Erasmus University, Rotterdam, therefore, contributing to tightening the mutual cooperation between Vietnam - the Netherlands in the field of education.

Assoc. Prof. Matthias Rieger - Representative of International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University of Rotterdam sent his congratulations to learners via an online format.

Within the framework of the programme, Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Director of VNP showed his gratitude to guests who are parents, relatives, and friends of new Masters. The presence of distinguished guests was not only large support for new Masters but also the honor and pride of the VNP Programme. In the academic conclusion section, Dr. Pham Khanh Nam finalized the achievements of VNP in the past time, particularly transitioning rapidly from offline to online learning and currently hybrid format in the context that Covid-19 has been occurring complicatedly. The doctor highly valued students graduating this year due to theses on the topic “digital economics” which has been a central tendency, in which Ngo Quynh Hoa’s thesis exceeded more than 180 other learners around the world to attain the prize “Best Research Paper year 2020 - 2021” in the field of Public Policy and Development Management of ISS.

The ceremony continued with the graduation decision announcement of Assoc. Prof. Ho Viet Tien - UEH Graduate School. The new Masters solemnly performed the hat-wearing ritual, officially being Masters in Economics.

Issuing graduation degrees for new Masters

At the ceremony, new Masters shared about their learning processes at the VNP Programme. New Master Nguyen Phu Quoc informed this was a spirit of accepting challenges, confronting difficulties, and enabling themself to be able to make mistakes to gain success. Master Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan received lots of support from lecturers and the office in her learning process from Can Tho to HCMC. During her process of making efforts to study, VNP has provided her with knowledge as a place that was as close as her family.

After 2 years of studying with remarkable efforts and determination, accomplishing 14 subjects and a thesis completely in English, learners of the VNP Programme can now be proud of developing on a new journey with an internationally recognized Master's Degree in Economics and ready for integrating with the global economy.
