On the morning of March 19, 2025, the strategic partnership signing ceremony between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the University of Nevada, Reno took place successfully, opening the doors for Vietnamese students to study in the United States through the Global Pathways program. This event marks a significant milestone in international education collaboration, enabling students to access a world-class learning environment, develop global skills, and expand future career opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by: representatives from the University of Nevada, Reno included Dr. Brian Sandoval - President; and Dr. Mehmet Tosun - Director of the International Program. On behalf of UEH, the ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Head of Department of Research - Development & Global Engagement of UEH; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Phuong Thao - Vice Director of the International School of Business (ISB).
To kick off the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - UEH President expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno: “Expanding international learning opportunities has always been one of the strategic goals that we aim to enhance in the future. The signing ceremony is a significant milestone, marking the long-term collaboration between the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, providing study abroad opportunities in the field of business for students.”

Agreeing with the above viewpoint, Dr. Brian Sandoval - President of the University of Nevada, Reno also emphasized that business has been one of the top fields the university has heavily invested in terms of teaching quality and infrastructure over the years. Dr. Brian Sandoval also mentioned that in the near future, the University of Nevada, Reno will be opening a brand new business building on campus. With an area of over 150,000 square feet (over 13,900 square meters), this will be one of the finest business buildings in the country, ready to welcome Vietnamese students to enroll in the upcoming semesters.

During the ceremony, both universities agreed to formalize their partnership, creating more opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in the United States through the Global Pathways program.

Global Pathways is a direct-entry program for Bachelor’s degrees designed by top 1% universities, with main study abroad models Global Pathways: 1-2 years studying at UEH-ISB, 1-2 years of study and degree attainment at top universities in the world.

By joining the Global Pathways program, students have 1-2 years to build their industry knowledge and hone their skills in Vietnam. Knowledge at this stage is the foundation to help students learn more advanced when transferring to Australia. Soft skills such as teamwork, public speaking, critical thinking... will also be cultivated.
