The film “Without Question” is the second training film produced by ICAEW. It represents a breakthrough, moving away from traditional training methods by presenting real-life scenarios for learners to discuss professional, ethical issues, and the challenges of facing and making tough decisions in business and management situations.

In 2020, ICAEW began its partnership with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) by donating the rights to the first training film, titled “False Assurance” This film was successfully used in several courses at UEH, employing innovative methods and receiving positive feedback. Continuing this sustainable collaboration, ICAEW Vietnam has donated the second film, "Without Question" to support UEH in teaching and training, providing high-quality teaching materials for both faculty and students.

Mr. Phan Vu Hoang introduced the film "Without Question"

During the training session, he shared important insights and provided in-depth analysis of the scenarios in the film, particularly highlighting key issues such as reliance on experts and accounting estimates, the crucial role of auditors regarding significant items in financial statements, information security, conflicts in family businesses, challenges in the transition to a publicly listed company, the struggles of founding shareholders when losing control, and the difficulties faced by independent directors in asserting control and ensuring effective governance.

Mr. Phan Vu Hoang shared hypothetical scenarios from the film

This program provided UEH lecturers with valuable insights while enhancing their ability to apply innovative teaching methods. By using scenarios from the film, instructors can effectively connect theory with practice, promote creative thinking, develop critical skills, and improve students' accessibility and integration.

These insights can be applied across various fields such as asset valuation, auditing, corporate governance, taxation, tax consulting, information security, and information systems. The lively group activities created a positive learning environment, encouraging the exchange of ideas and sharing of practical experiences, contributing to the success of the training session.

College of Business UEH plans to continue implementing similar activities in the future, aiming to provide opportunities for faculty to enhance their knowledge, diversify their teaching methods, and closely link theory with practice. These programs not only help faculty refine their expertise but also foster innovation in their approaches to knowledge delivery.
