JABES Meeting and Working with Journal of Trade Science

On the afternoon of April 13^th, 2022, Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES), University of Economics HCMC, had a meeting and worked with Journal of Trade Science affiliated with Thuongmai University on the experience of journal management of the two universities. In the spirit of sharing cooperation, the two sides exchanged information on the online management software system of JABES as well as discussing the procedure of being listed in ESCI and SCOPUS Index of JABES.

Attending this event, in terms of JABES, was Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of JABES and members of JABES. Representing Journal of Trade Science was Prof. Dinh Van Son - Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Trade Science and the working team including Assoc. Prof. Doan Ke Bon, Assoc. Prof. Ha Van Su, Assoc. Prof. Phan The Cong, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tuan Anh and Dr. Pham Minh Dat.

The overview of the meeting and working with the Journal of Trade Science

Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai represented JABES of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City to deliver a welcoming speech to the Journal of Trade Science: “This will be an extremely close-knit and open working session to share the experience JABES has collected during the past 30 years throughout presentations and exchange sections to learn from the Journals of the two universities”.

Prof. Dinh Van Son represented the Journal of Trade Science to inform: “Journal of Trade Science truly appreciates the warm welcome of University of Economics HCMC in general and Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies in particular. Thuongmai University and University of Economics HCMC had a long-standing and close-knit relationship, therefore, Journal of Trade Science expects to be facilitated and shared practical experiences to approach initial discoveries for the Journal of Trade Science to make progress in the development of the Journal in the future”.

In this working session, Dr. Huynh Luu Duc Toan introduced comprehensively the online paper management software system of JABES comprising both English and Vietnamese language. With the online paper management software system of JABES, regardless of the English or Vietnamese version of the system of Emerald International Publisher, the managerial procedure is always guaranteed to be rigid and transparent and the critical procedure is stricter. Thanks to this online management system, all submissions are processed on the system and the process history will be saved to minimize manual steps and mutual emails. This is an extremely significant management system and the prerequisite for journals to reach closer to the journal standards according to international customs.

Besides, Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai presented the procedures, plans, and important experiences of JABES to be listed in ESCI and SCOPUS Index, this presentation was prepared by the team of partners of JABES and once reported at the conference of the State Council for Professor Titles. Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai emphasized the 6 steps JABES conducted and succeeded in the process of attending ESCI and SCOPUS; at the same time, giving some practical clues to the team of the Journal of Trade Science to conduct their research, refer and apply based on real statements.

Thanks to sharing important experiences in taking JABES to ESCI and SCOPUS Index, in the spirit of open exchange, the two sides discussed and consulted the team of the Journal of Trade Science to assist them to apply and implement effectively those experiences in the upcoming time. This is a crucial foundation to promote the future relationship between the two universities in general and the two journals in particular with a target to support journals in the field of economics in Vietnam to be involved in the international academic community.
