As summer vacation 2024 arrives, UEH English Zone has organized a variety of activities to help UEHers improve their English skills. To ensure geographical distance is no longer an obstacle, these activities are flexibly conducted online across various platforms to provide the most dynamic English environment for students.
Goodbye to the familiar platform Gather Town, the well-known pixelated virtual world that has connected UEH English Zone with students. This year, EZ introduces a fresh breeze with a new platform to make online activities more interesting. EZ has chosen Topia, with its cool ocean-themed interface, to refresh the summer heat. Students have expressed their excitement participating in activities on this platform.
Famous for bringing English board games to the UEH student community, EZ did not disappoint students this June by selecting two extremely challenging and thrilling board games: Monopoly and Spyfall.
With Monopoly, students had the opportunity to develop strategic thinking, negotiation, and effective English communication skills to "seal the deal" on various properties on the board. With Spyfall, students experienced tense and exciting moments as "detectives" and "spies" used their reasoning and English expression skills to uncover the liar in the group.
At EZ Talks, EZ aims to give students the chance to express their views on deep, directly relevant topics to their lives. This June, EZ presents two fascinating talk topics: "Gen Z Unfiltered" and "The Soundtrack Of Life". The EZ Talks "Gen Z Unfiltered" provided an authentic view of Generation Z with their unique differences, perspectives, and lifestyles. Meanwhile, "The Soundtrack Of Life" allowed students to share their favorite movies and songs while honing their English skills through engaging entertainment topics.
EZ is delighted to collaborate with the BELL English Club this June through the Speaking Group Extended sessions - "Rest Mode: On" This offers students a chance to find peace after the stressful exam period and enjoy healing moments together.
Additionally, EZ has the opportunity to collaborate with the Youth Union - School of Foreign Languages at UEH to organize Coffee Talk sessions with topics "Ticket to Childhood" and "Summer Free Talk" to discuss the vibrant summer and reminisce about memorable childhood memories.
June at UEH English Zone concluded with meaningful activities that contributed to improving English skills, personal development, and community bonding among students.
