Launching event: Shine With Australia Magazine, collaboration between UEH and Austrade

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - On Thursday, April 20th, the Launching event: Shine With Australia Magazine was held at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). This Magazine was created in collaboration between UEH and The Australian Trade and Investment Commission in Vietnam (Austrade).

The event welcomed special guests: Mr. Xavier Simonet - CEO of Austrade, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of the UEH.

Launch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam bilateral relationship

Shine With Australia provides a wealth of valuable content on Australian International Education, featuring updates on studying abroad, useful lessons from prominent alumni, and insights from experts from many top 1% of universities in the world.

In addition, the Magazine features many fascinating stories of outstanding overseas students - Vietnamese youths who have gone to Australia to study and have since achieved great success. The Magazine will be a highlight to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam bilateral relationship.

Mr. Xavier Simonet, the CEO of Austrade, emphasized at the event that Vietnam and Australia have had a long and deep bilateral relationship built over the past 50 years, with education always a cornerstone of the relationships. In 2022, Vietnam was the 5th largest source market of international students for Australia. There are approximately 100,000 alumni and 24,000 Vietnamese students studying in Australia. Many of them are highly regarded in their respective fields and have made significant contributions to people in the two countries and more broadly, around the world. Mr. Xavier hopes the Magazine will become a useful resource for students and their families as well as potential partners in Vietnam. It will certainly be a great avenue for Vietnamese readers to learn more about Australia, its excellent education system and diverse offers to Vietnamese students.

Prof. Su Dinh Thanh, representing the UEH, announced that going forward, UEH will create more favorable conditions for Australian education to reach more students in Vietnam through high schools, universities offering Australian programs, as well as training programs between Vietnamese and Australian educational institutions.

With more than 100 pages of rich content, the Magazine is divided into three parts, including:

Part III - "Australia - Education Powerhouse: Destination and Opportunity"

In Part I - "Studying Abroad - Inspiration and Value", readers will meet talented Vietnamese individuals who have chosen Australia as their study destination and launching pad for their careers. After many efforts, they have achieved success and shone brightly.

These include Master Harry Hoang and Mr. Dimitri Tran, international students who are now successful entrepreneurs in the accounting and AI industries. There is also TikToker Duong Pham, who spreads new perspectives and experiences of studying abroad in Australia to young people or the miraculous story of Mr. Lu Nhat Vinh, who once borrowed $2,000 to study abroad and is now a professor at the Australian National University.

In Part II - "Experience and Tips", readers will enjoy valuable insights from Australian overseas students about everything they need to know before embarking on their study journey. Extending the "Shine With Australia - Key to Studying Abroad in Australia" campaign

The Shine With Australia Magazine, named after the global Shine With Australia campaign, implemented by the Australian Government to invite prospective international students to ‘discover your brilliant future self’ by studying with Australia.

In Vietnam, two projects in the Shine With Australia campaign, including the Shine With Australia talk series on VnExpress online newspaper (Mar 2022) and the Shine With Australia Event Month (Oct 2022) were successfully organized by UEH and Austrade.

The Shine With Australia Magazine is published by UEH Publishing House. It is expected that 1,000 copies will be printed in the first release.

With the support of Australian states and territories, the Magazine will be distributed to high schools in Vietnam, nurturing their dream of studying abroad in Australia.
