Looking back at 2023 - Imprints in the UEH Union - Association Works

On the morning of March 2, 2024, the UEH Youth Union - Student Association solemnly held a Conference summarizing UEH Union - Association works and the UEH Youth Awards 2023 to evaluate, to recognize, and to honor outstanding groups and individuals contributing to creating excellent programs and activities.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the City Youth Union - Student Association, there was the presence of Comrade Phan Tan Anh - Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City; Comrade Luong Sy Nhan - Member of the Youth Union's Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Youth Union's Organization and Inspection Committee. In terms of the leadership of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), there was the participation of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy Director of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Chairman of UEH Union; Mr. Duong Minh Man - Deputy Head of UEH Department of Human Resource Management, Party Committee member in charge of Youth Affairs. On behalf of the UEH Union - Association, there was the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of the UEH Youth Union, Head of the UEH Youth Union Inspection Committee, and Ms. Du Phuc My Kim - Deputy Secretary of UEH Youth Union, President of UEH Student Association. In addition, the program also had the participation of members of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - UEH Association, the Personnel Committee of UEH Schools, Heads and Deputy Heads of Professional Committees, and the Executive Committee of the Unions - Associations of Schools/Institutes/Dormitories, Boards of Directors, Executive Boards of Clubs/Teams/Groups, Executive Committees of Youth Union Branches.

At the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of the UEH Youth Union - evaluated the activities of the Union and Association in 2023 and set out directions and expectations for 2024. The highlight of 2023 is the creativity and the innovation in UEH Youth Union - Association activities. Many new programs have been implemented, creating practical values for students. UEH Union - Association has changed the way of implementation and organization of activities while maximizing the effectiveness of online media and applying digital technology in operating the Union's activities. With that spirit, she also disseminated the orientations, challenges, and expectations for key activities in UEH Union - Association works in 2024 to Unions - Union officials at all levels including:

Organizing Youth Union Congresses at all levels towards the UEH Youth Union Congress in a formal, organized, and effective manner.
In 2024, with the academic year's theme being the Year of Youth Volunteers, attention should be paid to organizing in-depth volunteer activities and applying expertise to voluntary works.
Improving the quality and innovating student’s scientific research awards suiting the expertise of each member college.
Improving foreign language skills for students and focusing on international student exchange.
Improving technological capacity for students and increasing the application of digital technology in Union and Association activities, promoting digital transformation for localities.
Implementing Student Consulting and Support activities, focusing specifically on mental health care for students.
Focusing on developing educational activities and raising student’s awareness.
Restoring and creating an operating environment for managers and young lecturers.

On behalf of the UEH Party Committee - Board of Directors, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of UEH - complimented the achievements that the UEH Union and Association obtained in 2023. He acknowledged the efforts of Union and Association officials to organize effective and practical activities, attracting a large number of students. Appreciating the role of the Union - Association in fostering and developing the young generation, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao has set a development orientation for Union-Association works in 2024. He emphasized the importance of innovating content and operating methods, focusing on improving the quality of programs and activities towards practicality, efficiency, and suitability to the needs of students.

In order to implement Youth Union works and movements of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in 2024, the UEH Youth Union Standing Committee officially launched the Youth Month 2024 with the theme "Youth volunteering for community life". For each Youth Union member, March holds extremely great value and meaning. Youth Month 2024 with the theme "Youth volunteering for community life" promises to be a great opportunity for UEH youth to burn with enthusiasm, show the spirit of impetus and commitment, not to be afraid of hardships, and be ready to bring positive things through voluntary works for the community.

At the ceremony, the UEH Youth Union Standing Committee - UEH Student Association Secretariat honored and awarded the UEH Youth Awards 2023 to 62 collectives with outstanding achievements including the following award categories:
