Looking back at the proud journey of UEH youth on the occasion of the 74th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024)

In the meaningful days of January, to practically celebrate the 74^th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024), the UEH Student Association organized a series responding to the holiday, and at the same time demonstrated the spirit of enthusiasm, the will to study persistently, the spirit of impetus for the community, and to inherit good values from generations of students of Saigon - Gia Dinh and generations of students who have fallen for the country's independence and peace.

Challenge Flapping Journey - looking back at beautiful moments with the UEH Student Association

As a nucleus representative participating in the activities of the Association, each member is an indispensable piece to complete the colorful overall picture of the Student Association. Challenge Flapping Journey is an opportunity for each member to look back at brilliant footage of the most beautiful and brilliant memories of their youth with the Student Association. These are not only the lessons and early experiences that will forever be remembered but also the smiles and moments spent with teammates.

At the same time, through a series of challenges, each member will find hidden sources of motivation from which to strive for development, constantly learning, promoting inherent strengths, and always exploring and challenging in new areas to improve and become the best version of themselves. Those are the goals and milestones that the UEH Student Association is aiming for, aspiring to conquer to build an increasingly strong and dynamic Association.

The activity takes place in the form of using a Template on the Capcut platform so that students can freely create videos to tell their own stories on the journey with their white dove friend. The activity attracted nearly 6,000 members and students participating in the challenge to spread the exciting atmosphere of the anniversary program and to share beautiful moments with the Student Association.

Exploding traditional arts program - Proud of UEH youth

On January 13, 2024, along with the UEH 5-Good Student Commendation Ceremony 2023, the Program to Celebrate the 74^th Anniversary of Traditional Day for Vietnamese Students and the Student Association took place successfully in Hall A. 116, Campus A - 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street.

The program was honored to welcome Comrade Nguyen Tat Toan - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Youth Union's Committee, Standing Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City. On behalf of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), there was the participation of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Principal of UEH College od Business; Dr. Thai Kim Phung - Vice Principal of UEH College of Technology and Design; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Leaders of departments and management units; Youth Union Standing Committee - UEH Student Association Secretariat; Representatives of affiliated Unions and Associations; Parents of 67 UEH 5-good students and the support of more than 700 UEH students.

The ceremony opened with a traditional music program that exploded with extremely majestic and unique but equally meaningful performances to review the steadfast and indomitable traditions of the Saigon - Gia Dinh student generation; at the same time, to demonstrate the dynamic, new, and creative spirit of UEH youth.

The UEH Youth Union - Student Association awarded outstanding individuals and groups who achieved the title of 5-Good Student, including 67 UEH 5-Good Students; 2 UEH 5-good student groups, and 4 UEH Student Association branches. Other expected award categories were also honored to be awarded to excellent 5-good students: "Inspiration 5-good Students”; "City level 5-good student 2023"; “UEH 5-good student for 3 consecutive years”, and “UEH 5-good student in 2023”.

Giving the opening speech at the commendation ceremony, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of UEH - recognized and praised the efforts, solidarity and pioneering-creative spirit of the Executive Committee of the UEH Student Association during 28 years of formation and development.

“The UEH Party Committee and Board of Directors expect that entering the new year 2024, along with many changes and developments of UEH, the Student Association will continue to be more proactive, creative, and professional to create a Useful learning and training environment for members and students, thereby, affirming the unique qualities of UEH students on the educational map in Vietnam and not hesitating to reach out to the world." - Excerpt from the sharing of Prof. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao.

In the past year 2023, the UEH Youth Union - Student Association was honored to receive the following titles and awards:

- Excellent unit ranked 2^nd in Emulation Cluster No. 2 in Youth Union Work and the City's youth movement in 2022 - 2023;

- Excellent leading unit in Emulation Cluster No. 1 in Association work and the City's student movement in 2022 - 2023;

- The model "Training and Capacity Assessment System for Association Officials" won the January 9 Award from the Central Student Association and the White Dove Award from the Vietnamese Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

- Ho Hao Hon Award 2023 for "Solutions for applying digital technology in operating the Union's activities";

- Outstanding youth project at City level for the 2022 - 2023 academic year - "Building an online exam system to serve Youth Union - Association activities - UEH Youth Online"

- Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union for outstanding units in Youth Union work and youth movements in school areas under the Youth Union in 2022 - 2023;

- Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association for the unit that successfully completed the tasks of the Association and the student movement for the 2020 - 2023 term;

- Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association for groups with outstanding achievements in summer volunteer programs and campaigns in the period 2020 - 2023.

This January, the UEH Student Association organized other activities to promote the spirit of volunteering for the community, creating an environment for students to develop comprehensively their ethics, professions, physical strength, awareness, and abilities to integrate, including the 16th Spring Volunteer Campaign - 2024; A series to develop the 5 Good Student movement after the commendation; A series of educational activities on Ethnic Tet Culture - "Spring of Identity"; performance "Spring Fire" and so on.

From the achieved results, the UEH Youth Union - Student Association orients the organization's activities in the near future to be implemented not only with breakthroughs and creativity in content and methods but also to demonstrate the pioneering spirit of UEH students in accompanying the school's development strategy, aiming to become "Global Citizens who act for sustainable development".
