Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between UEH CELG and Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA)

On the morning of July 12th, 2022, at the room B1-204, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG-UEH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) in the period of 2022 - 2027. This cooperation aims to improve the quality of training in Taxation in Business and Tax Administration at UEH School of Public Finance, helping students improve their practical knowledge and access to many job opportunities.

Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of CELG-UEH, there were: Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Diep Gia Luat - Vice Dean in charge of School of Public Finance; Dr. Le Quang Cuong - Business Tax Program Manager; Dr. Tran Trung Kien - Program Manager of Tax Administration, along with lecturers and students of CELG-UEH.

On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA), there was the attendance of Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong - Chairwoman, Standing Committee member, and 5 Vice Presidents and Heads of committees of the Association.

Overview of the ceremony

Speaking at the opening of the program, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG -  shared: “In October 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City officially announced a strategy to restructure the university, aiming for a multidisciplinary and sustainable university in the 2021 - 2030 period. Accordingly, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) was established to carry out the task of training high-quality human resources capable of identifying and solving problems in the field of economics, law, and government which are complex, interdisciplinary, and multi-disciplinary at global, regional and Vietnamese scales. In addition to academic research activities, practical research for localities, short-term training, consulting, policy criticism, and technology transfer to localities; international cooperation in training, exchange of lecturers and students, scientific research, international seminars, etc. towards sustainable development, CELG always focuses on linking with domestic enterprises in the region in i) Cooperation in building training programs, fostering and developing human resources; ii) Cooperation in scientific research and consulting; and iii) Cooperation in organizing conferences, seminars, economic columns, scientific seminars and providing and exchanging information to meet domestic, regional and global market demands. Today, we are delighted to partner with the HCMC Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA).”

Within the framework of the program, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Gia Luat and Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong had in-depth discussions on the content of cooperation in teaching activities such as UEH and the Association shared teaching, reporting, and practice activities from the Association's reporters. At the same time, other activities were also proposed such as cooperation in organizing workshops on topics on Tax Policy; periodic thematic reports to exchange updates between knowledge and practice on difficult challenges, from which the lecturers have more examples in the lecture so that the students have more practical angles; graduation assessment activities, master training; admissions and program counseling.

On behalf of CELG’s Board of Directors, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Head of CELG - presented detailed proposals and ideas for future cooperation with HTCAA such as cooperation in teaching activities, training program development, organization of visits and career orientation for students, coordination methods to enhance the practicality of the field of study.

Discussions and exchanges concerning cooperation activities between CELG, SPF and HTCAA

In the spirit of unity, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government - School of Public Finance and Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) officially signed an MOU. The content of the cooperation is carried out to improve the quality of training in Taxation in Business and Tax Management at the School of Public Finance. This was considered a great step forward for the development of the School of Public Finance and the two majors of Taxation in particular and was also a condition for affirming the development of the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) in general. With the strength and long history of training in the field of Taxation of the School of Public Finance and the expansion of cooperation with an enterprise with intensive training activities in the field of tax consulting such as the Ho Chi Minh City Taxation Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) will be an opportunity to help students improve their practical knowledge as well as lecturers to be able to update new trends in the market.

On the basis of the cooperation content, UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) will continue to implement training programs belonging to the university with the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) during the following time. It is expected that the cooperation relationship will bring many practical benefits to the two sides in the future and contribute more to the socio-economic development of the country.
