Milestones of 2025: A Five-Year Journey of Comprehensive Student Care and Support at UEH

07 Feb, 2026

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone characterized by considerable effort and positive transformation in student care and support services at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). This is the first year that the Department of Student Affairs has operated with clearly defined roles, structure, and functional responsibilities, while simultaneously implementing comprehensive support activities encompassing academic assistance, employment services, and holistic capacity development for students. These efforts represent a step-by-step realization of UEH's commitment to integrating educational quality with social responsibility and sustainable development values.

Multi-Tiered Student Care and Support System at UEH

The student care and support system at UEH is built upon a learner-centered approach, ensuring equitable access to education while pursuing sustainable development. Through the synchronized implementation of support policies and services, UEH has progressively established a student care ecosystem that extends throughout the entire learning journey and personal development process, contributing to enhanced training quality and learning experiences.

Within this ecosystem, the Department of Student Affairs serves as the focal point for ensuring equitable learning opportunities, particularly for disadvantaged student groups. The financial support system encompasses diverse programs, ranging from academic excellence scholarships and financial hardship assistance to scholarship funds from corporate and organizational partners. In 2025 alone, UEH supported over 11,000 students affected by storms, floods, and natural disasters with total funding exceeding 23 billion VND. The University also flexibly applied educational credit solutions, tuition deferment programs, emergency assistance, and comprehensive preferential policies for students with disabilities.

Alongside financial support, UEH places strong emphasis on building a safe, orderly, and study-conducive living environment. Dormitory management has undergone positive transformation through a combined management-self-governance model with gradual technology integration. Digital transformation in student care continues to be strengthened with 113 Level-4 online public services available on the UEH Electronic Transaction Portal, along with upgrades to DRS and CRM systems focusing on data integration, process standardization, and experience enhancement, with student satisfaction serving as the benchmark for service quality.

Building a Foundation of Health for Learning and Sustainable Development

In response to the increasingly demanding requirements of modern society, UEH focuses on supporting students' holistic development across professional competencies, physical and mental health, and cultural life. In 2025, numerous health care and mental well-being programs were implemented synchronously through sports activities, cultural and artistic events, academic competitions, health consultations and screenings, psychological workshops, and seminars on healthy lifestyles. Concurrently, the Department of Student Affairs effectively maintained school health services with thousands of consultations, examinations, and first-aid treatments; the student health insurance participation rate reached 98.79%, contributing to social security and creating a safe, empathetic learning environment for students.

Through physical and mental health care activities and safety skills training, students are supported in developing the necessary balance to adapt sustainably to life's demands

Beyond health care, UEH enhances students' skills and integration capabilities through a soft skills training system featuring 20 topics designed in a progressive pathway from basic to advanced levels, aligned with practical labor market requirements. English proficiency enhancement activities continue to be promoted through English Park and UEH English Zone—a community of over 24,000 followers that has become a space for practicing communication skills and building confidence in an international learning environment.

The Department of Student Affairs also focuses on connecting with enterprises to expand internship and employment opportunities for students through career fairs, company visits, and mock interview activities, enabling students to gain early exposure to the labor market and shape their career pathways. In 2025 alone, three mock interview sessions contributed to helping students enhance their recruitment skills and readiness for entering the real working environment.

The year 2025 marked a milestone of connecting over 8,000 job opportunities for students and workers in Ho Chi Minh City with nearly 100 enterprises in UEH's partner network

A Safe and Respectful Learning Environment

Walking alongside students, UEH builds a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environment while encouraging students to proactively participate in co-creating shared learning spaces. Built upon policies protecting student rights and university codes of conduct, UEH promotes dialogue, feedback, and student participation through awareness-raising programs, communication campaigns, and discussions on equality and respect for differences. In 2025, these activities attracted active student participation, contributing to the formation of open-minded thinking, the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to discriminatory behaviors, while equipping students with civic competencies and essential skills for diverse and internationally integrated learning and working environments.

Beyond equipping students with knowledge and professional skills, DSA also aims to nurture the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the university environment

Orientation for 2026

Entering 2026, the UEH Department of Student Affairs is oriented toward developing support services by both expanding the scale of key activities aligned with UEH's 50th anniversary milestone and enhancing the depth, quality, and sustainability of programs. Building upon data and digital transformation foundations, the Department focuses on personalizing services, improving the effectiveness of physical and mental health care, promoting equality and inclusion, while strengthening academic support and career development through close connections with enterprises and society.

Continuing from the foundation established in 2025, the UEH Department of Student Affairs aspires to the role of a unit that creates comprehensive learning experiences, contributing to realizing UEH's mission of developing people, knowledge, and sustainable service to society in the coming period.
