On the morning of August 15, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and GELEX Group officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two parties. This agreement opens up extensive opportunities for cooperation, enabling both units to maximize their strengths, share resources, and co-create sustainable values, making practical contributions to the community's development.
Attending the signing ceremony, representing UEH were: Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Rector of the UEH Honours College; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Vice Rector of the UEH College of Business; Assoc. An overview of the signing ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH, shared: “In recent years, UEH has relentlessly striven to affirm its position as one of the leading Multidisciplinary and Sustainable Universities in Vietnam, achieving numerous international accomplishments. UEH currently has four member colleges: the College of Business, the College of Economics, Law and Government, the College of Technology and Design, and the Honours College, along with two campuses in Vinh Long and the upcoming Nexus Nha Trang, which will break ground on August 19, 2025. UEH's development has always been intertwined with the companionship of strategic partners, of which GELEX Group is a prime example. Originating as a state-owned enterprise and now one of Vietnam's leading investment groups, operating across multiple sectors with many renowned brands, we recognize GELEX as an ideal partner that brings valuable practical opportunities for our students. Through this cooperation agreement, UEH expects students to gain access to a professional working environment, participate in real-world projects, and holistically develop their knowledge and soft skills, preparing them for successful career integration. Mr. Nguyen Trong Hien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of GELEX Group, expressed his sincere thanks and warm welcome to the UEH leadership, faculty, and delegates. He was impressed by the university's development and the warm reception from the UEH Board of Management. He also shared that many key leaders within the Group and its member companies are UEH alumni. At the ceremony, he emphasized GELEX's vision of "creating the future" amidst the challenges and opportunities presented by science and technology, especially AI. The Group's development strategy is based on two pillars: investing in science and technology, and human development, with building a high-quality workforce as a top priority. GELEX is always seeking and nurturing talent through collaboration with universities, creating practical experience opportunities for students. To this end, GELEX is implementing the 10-Year Connection Program (2025-2035) to synchronize the ecosystem between the university and the enterprise, linking training with practice, research, and innovation. He expressed his hope that GELEX could establish a long-term partnership with UEH to develop human resources, foster innovation, and contribute to the nation's development.

To build and develop a sustainable cooperative relationship, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and GELEX Group have discussed and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the following key areas of focus:
+ Connecting training with practical application: Organizing internship programs/practical semesters and corporate tours to provide UEH students with exposure to a real-world working environment.
+ Collaboration in organizing training programs: Appointing lecturers, experts, and managers to participate in cooperative training programs to enhance the human resource quality of both parties.
+ Connecting to attract human resources: Partnering in the UEH Sharing & Giving - Career Fair series; organizing talk shows for students and corporate recruitment seminars; connecting to implement research projects, startup ideas, and innovation initiatives.
+ Partnership in the "Giving to UEH - For a More Sustainable Future" program: Sponsoring scholarships and supporting the University's programs as well as student academic events and activities.
