New UEH Publications Alert (Week 1 – August 2027): Where Digital Technology, Law, and Sustainable Governance Intersect

In Week 1 – August 2027, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to record new academic achievements, reflecting its increasingly broad interdisciplinary research capacity. This latest collection of publications highlights a distinctive intersection of data science, human behavior, sustainable governance, and legal systems, further reaffirming the University’s ability to connect disciplines and generate interdisciplinary knowledge.

Creating Knowledge at Emerging Intersections

Rather than approaching issues through isolated perspectives, UEH researchers have combined multiple theoretical foundations, including Signaling Theory, Self-Congruity Theory, and Prospect Theory, to address emerging issues in the digital era and the pursuit of sustainable development.

Notably, the UEH research ecosystem has focused on highly applicable topics:

- Digital Law & Technology: Expanding research into the fields of justice and the digital space, with a notable study examining the “Right to Be Forgotten” in the criminal justice system and its implications for legal reform in Vietnam. At the same time, blockchain technology is explored as a tool for promoting transparency and sustainable fashion consumption.
- Tourism Economics: Developing destination efficiency assessment tools based on behavioral data, thereby providing a new approach to benchmarking and decision-making in the tourism industry amid increasing volatility.

Shaping Leadership and Sustainable Governance

Amid integration and transformation, research continues to explore organizational and behavioral factors that play important roles in innovation and sustainable development.

- In the corporate sector: Research shows that the quality of sustainability reporting plays an important role in translating ESG information into corporate performance and competitive advantage across ASEAN economies.
- In organizational settings: Studies shed light on the roles of prosocial motivation, sharing best practices, and sharing mistakes in fostering individual innovation, while emphasizing the importance of an innovative climate.
- In academia: Research on academic leadership and organizational climate demonstrates that these factors can influence faculty satisfaction in the context of higher education reform in Vietnam.

Strength through Multilevel Analytical Models

To address complex research questions, UEH researchers continue to strengthen their empirical capabilities through a range of advanced quantitative methods.

The featured studies demonstrate the application of:

- Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling (ML-SEM): Analyzing large-scale data on listed firms across ASEAN economies to assess the relationships among sustainability reporting quality, firm performance, and competitive advantage.
- Efficiency Analysis and Behavioral Models: Applying Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to assess tourism destination efficiency, combined with TOPSIS and Prospect Theory to develop a Behavioral Data Envelopment Analysis (BDEA) framework capable of reflecting loss aversion and reference dependence in decision-making.

The combination of quantitative models, corporate data, organizational data, and behavioral data demonstrates research capabilities that ensure both academic depth and practical applicability in management, policymaking, and sustainable development.

Vision and Position

Overall, the publications in Week 1 - August 2027 continue to reaffirm UEH’s strong academic foundation and interdisciplinary research capacity. From digital law, blockchain, and ESG governance to tourism and organizational innovation, these studies demonstrate the ability to connect multiple fields to address complex issues facing contemporary socio-economic development.
