Artificial Intelligence, ESG, and Strategic Competitiveness
Research on ESG and AI approaches technology and sustainable governance as strategic capabilities that can directly influence business performance and adaptability.
- - ESG Disclosure and Competitive Advantage: Analyzing 1,570 observations from 314 publicly listed companies across six ASEAN countries, the study finds that enhanced ESG disclosure can strengthen competitiveness by improving profitability and increasing domestic market share. This relationship is also influenced by the quality of integrated reporting, CEO compensation mechanisms, and stakeholder impacts.
- - AI and Sustainable Risk Management: Drawing on Dynamic Capability Theory and Agency Theory, the study examines how AI capabilities influence sustainable risk management through environmental audit effectiveness. It also considers the roles of ethical leadership and perceived greenwashing, emphasizing that the sustainability value generated by AI depends on how the technology is integrated with governance and accountability mechanisms.
Transforming Education and Unlocking the Potential of Organizational Behavior
In management and education, these studies clarify how environments, motivations, and interaction methods shape behavior, creativity, and the intention of learners and employees to remain engaged.
- - Negative Feedback and Employee Creativity: The study analyzes the role of task crafting in the relationship between negative feedback from supervisors and employee creativity. Prosocial motivation is examined as a moderating factor, helping explain why the same work-related pressure can lead to different responses.
- - Flipped Classroom Quality: Applying the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) model, the study examines how five dimensions of flipped classroom quality influence students' continuance intention through utilitarian attitudes, hedonic attitudes, and learner innovativeness.
- - Digital Storytelling and Intercultural Competence: Using a mixed-methods research design, the study on collaborative digital storytelling demonstrates how technology-mediated reflective learning can help students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) develop intercultural competence across cognitive, attitudinal, and behavioral dimensions.
Human-Centered Technology Architecture and Cybersecurity
Publications in computer science and information systems continue to pursue technical solutions to practical challenges, ranging from securing financial transactions to supporting communication for people with disabilities.
- - Fintech and Cybersecurity: Addressing the limitations of traditional perimeter-based security models, the study proposes a security architecture for peer-to-peer (P2P) payment ecosystems by integrating Blockchain with a Zero Trust model. This approach aims to strengthen security in digital financial environments, where transactions and interactions are no longer confined to a fixed network perimeter.
- - Computer Vision and Inclusive Communication: Applying the YOLOv11 algorithm, the study develops a real-time, gesture-based emotion recognition system for American Sign Language (ASL). The system focuses on six commonly used expressive gestures, aiming to support communication for people with hearing and speech impairments.
Macroeconomic Drivers, Institutional Power, and Digital Behavior
At the macro level, research connects technology, the environment, law, and market behavior, broadening approaches to contemporary development and governance challenges.
Green Growth and AI Investment in ASEAN-5: The study models the nonlinear relationships among economic growth, AI investment, renewable energy consumption, and environmental degradation. Foreign direct investment (FDI) serves as a regime-switching variable, helping clarify how the relationships among economic and environmental factors differ under varying conditions.
- Law in the Grey Zone of Conflict: The study of law in the grey zone analyzes how the Law of Armed Conflict operates in contexts where cyber operations and cognitive warfare exploit legal ambiguity, creating new challenges for civilian protection.
- Legal Semiotics and Institutional Power: The study of procedures for returning case files for supplementary investigation and reinvestigation in Vietnam approaches legal proceedings as a semiotic practice. It clarifies how courts exercise authority, redistribute procedural responsibilities, and shape the course of criminal proceedings.
- Influencer Marketing: Research on the content value of social media influencers examines repurchase intention through the mediating roles of parasocial relationships and trust. Combining the Ducoffe model with the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), the study analyzes how the informational and entertainment value of content can influence follower responses.
- Energy Policy and Energy Poverty: Research published in Energy Policy examines structural barriers to energy policy and the persistence of energy poverty amid geopolitical fragmentation. The study highlights the links among access to modern energy services, economic opportunities, and the inclusiveness of the energy transition.
From Technology Integration to Responsible Governance
Publications in Week 2 of October 2026 demonstrate the diversity of research methods and the depth of inquiry at UEH. From cross-country corporate data and organizational behavior models to computer vision algorithms, legal analysis, and environmental economics models, these studies collectively clarify how technology and interdisciplinary knowledge can help address challenges in governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
Through these efforts, UEH continues to affirm its multidisciplinary research orientation, connecting academic foundations with practical issues while promoting the integration of digital technologies into governance systems, institutions, and socioeconomic development.
