New UEH Publications Alert (Week 2 – September 2026): Towards “Twin Transformation” – UEH International Publications Decode the Intersection of Law, Digital Technology, Finance, and Sustainable Development

In Week 2 of September 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continued to record a number of new international publications, clearly demonstrating its interdisciplinary research orientation and ability to approach complex issues from multiple perspectives. This week's studies span a wide range of topics, from legal semiotics, corporate governance, and artificial intelligence to livestream commerce, sustainable consumption, the circular economy, tourism, and geopolitical risks, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of ongoing transformations in today's economic, social, and technological environment.

Exploring Current Issues through an Interdisciplinary Theoretical Framework

From an academic perspective, the University’s researchers have applied and integrated various modern theoretical frameworks and approaches, including Legal Semiotics, Social Presence Theory, Parasocial Interaction Theory, the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the Technology – Organization – Environment (TOE) Framework, and behavioral and governance analytical models. In particular, UEH’s research ecosystem has delved into highly topical issues:

- Law, Institutions & Communication: Analyzing the land ownership regime in Vietnam and the process of constructing “justice” from the perspective of legal semiotics; while also examining how communication, social media, short-form videos, and influencers shape public perceptions of legal issues.
- Finance & Corporate Governance: Analyzing the impact of anti-corruption intensity on corporate cash-holding decisions, as well as the role of board-level information technology governance in firm performance.
- Digital Technology & Consumer Behavior: Exploring forms of interaction in livestream commerce, including interactions between customers and streamers, among customers, and between customers and businesses; while also examining the impact of digital transformation on sustainable innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Tourism & Sustainable Development: Studying the impact of artificial intelligence on customer experience in tourism, destination competitiveness in Dong Thap Muoi, and the role of circular economy practices in tourist loyalty in Can Gio.

Diversifying Methodologies, Reaching International Standards

UEH researchers’ empirical capabilities continue to be demonstrated through the combination of diverse modern research methods, ranging from bibliometric analysis and behavioral models to econometric techniques and digital data mining.

- Data Analysis & Technology: Applying bibliometric analysis to systematize research trends on AI in tourism customer experience; while using Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology to extract content indicators from digital data.
- Econometrics & Panel Data: Using the two-step System GMM method to analyze complex relationships in banking and corporate data; combined with a Staggered Event-Study design in research on cybervetting.
- Behavioral Models & Mediation Analysis: Applying mediation-moderation models and behavioral theoretical frameworks to explain the formation of sustainable consumption behavior, tourist loyalty, and sustainable innovation in businesses.

The combination of micro- and macro-level data, digital data, and interdisciplinary research methods has produced findings that are both academically rigorous and highly applicable in practice.

Redefining Sustainable Development from an Interdisciplinary Perspective

The publications this week continue to demonstrate that sustainable development is approached as a multidimensional value-creation process, connecting behavior, technology, the environment, and competitiveness. Notable studies examine the gap between environmental concern and actual sustainable consumption behavior; the impact of the circular economy on tourism in Can Gio; and the role of local resources, smart tourism technology, and environmental commitment in enhancing destination competitiveness in Dong Thap Muoi. In addition, research on the global economic structural shift toward the services sector helps clarify changes in the energy-use structure between fossil fuels and sustainable energy.

Generating Knowledge, Advancing Digital Transformation and Green Development

Overall, the publications in Week 2 – September 2026 continue to affirm UEH’s interdisciplinary research capabilities. By combining diverse theoretical foundations, modern data analysis methods, and approaches ranging from the micro to macro level, the University’s researchers are contributing to addressing complex issues in economics, governance, technology, law, and sustainable development.

The research works not only contribute to the international scientific community but also provide valuable scientific evidence for digital transformation, green development, corporate governance, and policymaking in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.
