Cultural Festival Welcoming New UEH K50 Students: NOVA 2024
On October 3, 2024, the Opening Ceremony of the Cultural Festival to welcome new students "NOVA 2024" took place at Hall B1, Campus B - UEH in an exciting and energetic atmosphere for students of all courses. The event attracted the participation of more than 800 students, especially new K50 students and UEH Youth Union - Association branches. Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Vice President of UEH Student Association - Head of the Organizing Committee of NOVA 2024 Week, emphasized the message of the program and called on new students to "Be bold and experience to the fullest"; at the same time, the opening ceremony of the week was performed by starting the giant game console, making the atmosphere of the program extremely exciting.
In addition, at the Opening Ceremony, the Organizing Committee of NOVA 2024 also presented thank you letters to the program's partners, including Gold Sponsors: Grab Company Limited, TDP IELTS International Education Company Limited and HMK HQK Glasses Company Limited; Silver Sponsor: ATD Technology and Design Center; and Bronze Sponsor: Hai Van Company Limited. Accompanying the program in the organization of activities, the sponsors brought UEH students to participate in many interesting and unique activities.

From October 3 to 4, 2024, opening the Cultural Festival Welcoming New Students of UEH K50 - NOVA 2024, more than 5,000 students gathered at UEH campus B to participate in booth activities, workshops, inspirational exchange programs and parades of Clubs/Teams/Groups, leaving many impressions on UEH students, especially the K50 New Students who have just entered the university environment.

At this year's Festival, 15 club fair booths from more than 28 Clubs/Teams/Groups of the UEH Youth Union created a festive atmosphere in Hall B1, clearly demonstrating the creative spirit and enthusiasm of UEH youth. In addition to interactive experiences and cultural exploration of Clubs/Teams/Groups at UEH, each booth also comes with activities conveying meaningful messages about ECO - sustainable development, GLOBAL - globalization and ART&TECH - technology combined with art, helping students expand their knowledge and deepen their awareness of social and environmental issues.
The booths were vividly decorated, attracting the participation of many new students.
In addition, within the framework of the New Student Welcome Week, 04 inspirational exchange programs were organized by the affiliated Youth Unions and Associations at Halls B1.302 and B1.205 along with minishows taking place continuously during the 2 festival days, attracting nearly 1,000 students and helping them gain more equipment for their adult journey.

In order to enhance the culture of enjoyment and creativity towards sustainable development, a workshop series took place within the framework of NOVA 2024 with more than 09 experience activities carried out by 10 School/Institute/Dormitory Unions - Associations. Students were free to experience creating art items such as clay decorations, phone straps, key chains, phone cases or unleash their creativity with recycling and reusing old items in workshops on decorating tote bags, succulent pots, stuffed animals and mosaic coasters. In particular, for the first time appearing at UEH, the parade of Clubs/Teams/Groups took place excitingly in both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2 days of EXPLORING DAY, helping the students understand more about the Clubs/Teams/Groups, thereby choosing a suitable destination during their 4 years of university.

Striving Day - A place to connect team spirit and shine musical talent
Landing at UEH campus N, Striving Day - Day 3 brought the Z-race physical challenge and Flashmob “Lead the way” competitions to all UEH students, attracting more than 17 teams from the Schools/Inter-Academic Unions/Dormitories and Campuses. In front of 1300 cheering students watching live, the competitions were extremely exciting and selected convincing winners.

Appearing for the first time at NOVA 2024, Z'Race took place with a series of challenges requiring high team spirit and endurance. With 4 stations: "Relay Ball Passing", "6 People 5 Legs", "Speed Wheel", and "Tug of War", the atmosphere of the campus N was pushed up through extremely intense battles. With the spirit of solidarity and inspiration from enthusiasm, the First Prize was awarded to the School of Banking Union, the Second Prize and the Third Prize respectively belonged to the Union - Association of Dormitory 43-45 Nguyen Chi Thanh and the Union - Association of School of International Business and Marketing. The Consolation Prize was awarded to the School Finance Union and the Most Enthusiastic Supporter Award went to the Union - Association of Dormitory 135 Tran Hung Dao.

The afternoon atmosphere of UEH at campus N was still not reduced due to the heat of the Flashmob contest: Lead The Way. With the participation of experienced jury, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of the UEH Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - Deputy Secretary of the UEH Youth Union - Vice President of the UEH Student Association - Head of the Organizing Committee of the Cultural Festival Welcoming New Students NOVA 2024, and more specifically, 2 guest judges: Ms. Mai Thien Quan - Head of SS Warriorz at Street Woman Fighter Vietnam and Ms. Luu Truc Anh (Shin) - Head of Salad at Street Woman Fighter Vietnam, making more than 1000 UEH students present seem to be ignited by a fiery source of energy.
With a meticulous investment in performance ideas and enthusiastic dance moves, the championship title of Flashmob Contest: Lead The Way officially belonged to the School of Banking, which was also performed at the NOVA Night 2024 The School of Finance and the School of Tourism respectively won the runner-up and the champion of the contest.

October 6, 2024 marked the great success of the NOVA Night 2024 at Hall A.116, Campus A UEH. At the Night, the Youth Union - Student Association was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President of the University; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Member of the Party Committee, Chairman of UEH Union; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Rector of UEH College of Business; Dr. Tran Thi Tuan Anh - Vice REctor of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of UEH College of Technology and Design, along with Leaders of UEH Units, Representatives of Partner Units and former UEH Union - Association officials of all periods.

Opening the gala, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President of the University, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Mangement, sent congratulations and encouragement to the new K50 students. He also expressed his hope that the K50 students will comprehensively develop their "mind - spirit - strength" and shine in their own way. Based on that, they will become global citizens, who are talented and creative, inheriting and developing the DNA of many generations of UEH students.

At the same time, in the NOVA Night 2024, the "Bright Spots of the Future" scholarship, including 4 million VND in cash and scholarship vouchers from the Academy of Technology and Design (ATD), continued to be awarded to 10 determined and extraordinary students on their journey to conquer knowledge at university. In addition, TDP IELTS English Center also awarded 20 scholarships to the UEH Student Association with the desire to accompany and develop foreign language skills for students in the upcoming time. Moreover, it is especially meaningful that all funds collected from the issuance of tickets to the NOVA Night 2024 were used by the Organizing Committee to support people affected by storm No. 3 - Typhoon Yagi. The community-oriented spirit of the program has partly conveyed the message of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Youth taking the lead in action for sustainable development.

The highlight of the Gala Night was fully demonstrated through the moment of starting Glory Night with a combination of cinematic footage, lights and music. After watching the impressive footage, all UEH students present in the hall pressed the Start button on their phones, ready to embark on a journey to discover UEH with a series of attractive and engaging performances, promising an unforgettable night.

Recreating classic games of many student generations, Clubs/Teams/Groups treated more than 1,000 students present at Hall A116 with well-prepared performances to watch the live stream. Each performance is a door to different game worlds, bringing students to explore and experience a range of emotions on their development journey at UEH.
The atmosphere of the NOVA Night 2024 with the participation of the Shocking Arts Team, Young Melody Club, Folk Song Club, RED - ISB Dance Club and talented students, created a bustling atmosphere for a large audience. The units dedicated eye-catching performances with diverse forms and themes, from modern dance, hip hop to rap, and ensemble singing and dancing. In particular, students were also connected to games with the themes of detective, candy, street vendors, audition, and reviving their memories in the magical game world. All of these created interesting artistic experiences at the NOVA Night 2024, and above all, sent special messages and wishes to new students on their development journey at UEH.

The Glory Night - The brilliant night of the stars has officially ended the NOVA Night 2024. Hopefully, the new K50 students - the stars of UEH will shine in their own way in their new university journey.
