Opening Ceremony of the Fostering Program for Leaders and Managers Having Skills to Work in International Environments in Kien Giang 2023

With prestige and quality that have been affirmed over the past 47 years, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is always a reliable address for businesses, associations, and government agencies to train, foster, and provide economic, business, management, law, and technology and design knowledge for human resources. On the morning of December 21, 2023, at the Kien Giang Province Political School, UEH coordinated with the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee and the Kien Giang Province Political School to solemnly organize the opening ceremony of the Fostering Program for Leaders and Managers Having Skills to Work in International Environments in Kien Giang 2023 with the theme "Improving leadership and management capacity to promote competitiveness and sustainable development for the locality in the context of global economic integration" for 40 Directors/Deputy Directors of Departments, Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments under the People's Council/People's Committee, Chairman/Vice Chairman of the People's Committees of the districts/cities under Kien Giang province.
Attending the Opening Ceremony, from Kien Giang Province, there were Mr. Le Thanh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Mr. Lam Phuoc Hai - Provincial Party Committee member, Principal of Kien Giang Province Political School; Mr. Ho Minh Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Ms. Pham Thi Thom - Vice Principal of Kien Giang Province Political School; Mr. Pham Van Quang - Deputy Head of Department of Training Management & Scientific Research, Kien Giang Province Political School. On the UEH side, there was the presence of Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Director of UEH; Dr. Nguyen Kim Duc - Deputy Director of the Institute for Regional Development Research and Consulting; Dr. Nguyen Le Hoang Thuy To Quyen - Lecturer at the Department of Government.

Addressing the class, Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, warmly welcomed and sent sincere thanks to the lecturers, delegates, and learners who had arranged their work and spent time attending the program. Mr. Hung affirmed that Kien Giang always focused on organizing training for leaders and managers and viewd this as one of the important stages of promoting competitiveness and sustainable development for localities in the Mekong Delta region. He also advised leaders and managers participating in the training course to increase interaction, debate, exchange, and sharing with UEH's team of experts to be able to update new economic models in the process of managing their unit's operations in the upcoming time.

Speaking at the opening of the course, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Director of UEH - shared: "The program to train leaders and managers skills to work in international environments is specifically designed for strategic leaders and managers in Kien Giang with the aims of improving their capacity to plan, lead, and administer development policies, meeting the requirements for sustainable development of Kien Giang Province in the 2021-2025 term and preparing leadership and management personnel in the next term. The program is designed and implemented using a teaching method that combines theory and case studies, especially discussing problems and bottlenecks in the province's development process."

Following that, Mr. Ha Van Thanh Khuong, Director of the Department of Construction, on behalf of the 40 learners of the training class, sent sincere thanks to the leaders and lecturers of UEH and the Kien Giang Province Political School. He commented that the learning topics closely followed the actual situation and economic development orientation of Kien Giang in the context of globalization, promising a space for learning and positive exchange. Mr. Khuong also represented all students and committed to strictly complying with the rules and regulations of the class, building a united class team, fully participating in all classes, and studying actively and proactively so as to achieve the best results.
