On May 7, 2025, the United Nations officially announced the establishment of the independent High-Level Expert Group on “Beyond GDP,” aiming to develop new indicators that more comprehensively reflect sustainable development, going beyond traditional Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures. This initiative stems from the commitment of member states to the “Pact for the Future” and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the 14 appointed experts is Associate Professor Dr. Pham Khanh Nam, representing the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).

In this new role, UEH will lead efforts to connect and collaborate globally to promote sustainable urban and community development. This appointment marks a strategic milestone in UEH's ongoing journey toward internationalization and sustainable development.

On April 25 and 26, 2025, the “Conference of Leaders of Departments of Education and Training and Principals of High Schools in the Mekong Delta Provinces 2025” took place at the Vinh Long Campus of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH Mekong). The program provided an opportunity for UEH to meet and share orientations regarding career guidance, undergraduate admissions, and policies for learners at both the Ho Chi Minh City campus and Vinh Long (UEH Mekong), as well as to offer free training and transfer of essential skills programs to enhance the management and operational capacity of school board members, admissions staff, and teachers at high schools.

The event gathered over 400 delegates from more than 20 countries.
