Press conference launching the Shine With Australia Event Month 2022

In the morning of September 24th, 2022, at the Room A.205, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), ISB and representatives from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in Vietnam (Austrade) and representatives of 8 Australian States held a press conference STARTING SHINE WITH AUSTRALIA 2022 EVENT MONTH.

The announcement ceremony of “Shine With Australia Event Month” was honoured to welcome delegates and guests. On behalf of UEH, there were: Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – UEH President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Head of UEH Department of Research Management - International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Dean of ISB; MSc. Truong Minh Kiet, Head of UEH Department of Marketing and Communication.

On behalf of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in Vietnam (Austrade), there were: Ms. Rebecca Ball - Senior Trade and Investment Counsellor of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). and the presence of Prof. Dr. Yichen Lan - Vice-Chancellor of Global Development and Director of the Vietnam Campus, Western Sydney University.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Rebecca Ball shared: “I am very pleased to hear that the seminar series “Shine with Australia '' is a collaboration between ISB, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the online newspaper VnExpress have attracted half a million young Vietnamese audiences interested in Australian Education. Such encouraging communication results have inspired Austrade and UEH to launch “Shine with Australia Event Month'' in October 2022. The event attracted 30 leading institutions, universities and schools from 8 Australian States and Territories. Talk shows and face-to-face consultations with state and territory governments, representatives of organisations, academics, and alumni are the best channels for participants to receive the most essential advice in career development.”

Besides, she emphasised that Shine With Australia Month will continue to contribute to the educational cooperation between the two countries, bring diverse benefits to Vietnamese students, and be meaningful on the eve of the 50-year anniversary of cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.

Following the success of the Shine With Australia talk series on Vietnam Television (VTV7) and VnExpress, the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City, ISB and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in Vietnam co-organized the Shine With Australia Event Month from October 9th to 30th, 2022. The event aims to introduce students, learners and their parents to the attractions of Australian diverse study abroad destinations, the opportunity to meet representatives from 8 states and territories, and leading universities with successful alumni.

Sharing at the press conference, Assoc. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Director of ISB – stated: “The month of Shine With Australia event is the first time with the appearance of 8 states - 30 schools. In addition to Australian education information, the event features one-on-one consultations. With this focus, we do believe that the event will bring comprehensive, official information, diverse scholarship opportunities to study in Australia and facilitate international students to understand Australian education."

The month of Shine With Australia event will take place with 2 main contents, including:

● Consultation sessions on Australian education policy with representatives of States and Territories, job opportunities and remuneration for international students;

● One-on-one meetings and consultations, specifically introducing admissions information, attractive scholarships of each leading school and university in Australia.

The series of events welcomes the “shining” of 30 guests who are successful Vietnamese experts and students in Australia. They will share with parents and young people the hottest topics today, helping them to have an overview so that they can arrange a detailed and feasible study plan for themselves.
