Professor and Associate Professor Announcement and Appointment Ceremony 2023

On January 15, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to appoint the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023 to 8 UEH lecturers.

Through the process of considering recognition of title standards at the Councils at junior, field, and state levels, on November 20, 2023, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors signed Decision No. 80 on recognizing the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023 for 58 lecturers meeting the standards for the title of Professor and 572 teachers meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor, including 08 UEH lecturers.

In accordance with the current regulations, the need to appoint Professors and Associate Professors, and the results of the Council for considering the appointment of Professors and Associate Professor in 2023 of UEH, the Director of UEH signed a decision to appoint Professor and Associate Professor for 01 Professor and 07 Associate Professors for 08 lecturers, including:

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of UEH;
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of UEH;
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh - Senior lecturer, School of Banking, UEH College of Business;
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Bang - Program Director, School of Management, UEH College of Business;
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Huan - Head of Financial Markets Department, School of Banking, UEH College of Business;
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Kien - Deputy Head of Marxism-Leninism, School of Politics;
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Nham - Senior Lecturer, School of Finance, UEH College of Business;
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of Research - Development and Global Engagement.

Sharing about his efforts in recent times, Professor Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao stated: "On behalf of the lecturers who have received the title of Professor and Associate Professor, I would like to send my thanks to the entire UEH. Thank you to my school as well as to the lecturers who have created an academic environment that incubates ideas, and to my colleagues who have researched, taught, and worked together for a long time. Thank you to all lecturers who have always cared, supported, and inspired candidates and colleagues to not be discouraged in even difficult and strenuous journeys. In particular, I would like to thank the school leaders and the teachers of the Junior Council for their interest and important comments in helping the 8 lectures achieve the final results, and the Departments, Committees, and units that have supported us during the application process. Finally, with my new position and new academic title, I would like to commit to accompanying, working, and striving to contribute to the development strategy of the School."

Associate Professor Nguyen Quoc Anh shared: "Through the process of studying, working, and striving at UEH for the past 26 years, this achievement can be stated to be an arduous and meaningful process. To achieve this result, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the UEH Board of Directors, leaders of member schools, and teachers for supporting and creating favorable conditions to help me during my time working at the University. In addition, I have the support of my families and colleagues so that I can focus on research and teaching effectively. I sincerely thank and appreciate it.”

Congratulating and assigning tasks to the new Professors and associate Professors, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council and Chairman of the UEH Junior Professor Council 2023 - emphasized: "Sincerely congratulate 1 new Professor, 7 new Associate Professors of UEH, this is the pride of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. I strongly believe that with their new roles, the Professors and Associate Professors will continue to train, research, publish, participate in conferences, and continue to contribute to UEH and society. Besides, the School hopes and encourages lecturers with PhD to make efforts and plan to achieve the title of Associate Professor. This is not only a personal mission but also the mission and pride of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The school, leaders of units, and departments will facilitate conditions and support for teachers to increasingly improve their capacity and develop themselves, thereby bringing UEH to sustainable development."
