QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025: UEH's Economics and Econometrics Ranked in the Global Top 251–300

The QS Quacquarelli Symonds organization has just announced the results of the world university rankings by subject for 2025 - QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. In this ranking, the fields of Economics and Econometrics within the Social Sciences and Management area of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) have been placed in the Top 251 – 300 of Universities worldwide. 

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 is a prestigious ranking published annually by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, evaluating universities globally according to specific fields and disciplines. In 2025, the ranking analyzed data from over 5,200 universities, of which 1,747 were ranked in 55 narrow disciplines across 5 broad areas. The total number of over 21,000 ranking entries reflects the scale and comprehensiveness.

+ QS categorizes the rankings into 5 broad subject areas, each comprising several sub-major subjects:

+ Arts & Humanities  

+ Engineering & Technology  

+ Life Sciences & Medicine  

+ Natural Sciences  

+ Social Sciences & Management  

Accordingly, the fields of Economics and Econometrics within the Social Sciences and Management area of UEH have reached the Top 251 – 300 of universities worldwide. This result is based on 5 ranking criteria established by QS, which include: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Paper, H-Index research impact factor, and International Research Network (IRN).

This result continues to be evidence affirming the quality of training and research at UEH in almost all of the university's traditional training programs that currently hold a leading position in Vietnam and meet the standards of top universities worldwide. 

This also provides an important foundation for the direction of expanding training in new interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and transdisciplinary programs like: ArtTech, MarTech, FinTech, LogTech, Digital Business (Biztech), Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management, Data Analysis and so on. New training programs linked to trends in technology, engineering, and application design such as: Smart City, Computer Science, Information Technology, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Control and Automation and so on.

Up to the current timeline, the field of Social Sciences at UEH has been recognized for quality by the rankings of Top Universities in the world, namely THE and QS. Specifically, UEH is ranked in the Top 301+ in the field of Economics and Business, and Top 501+ in Social Sciences worldwide according to THE 2025 ranking; currently, being ranked in the Top 251 – 300 in Economics and Econometrics within the Social Sciences group of the QS 2025 ranking. UEH should be a "study abroad" option close to home with the quality of education akin to global universities for high school students and learners at various levels in Vietnam.
