[UEH 50 Global Partners] School of Accounting, UEH College of Business strengthens international education collaboration with The University of Queensland (Australia)

As part of the UEH 50 Years - 50 Partners in 5 Continents program, on March 25, 2026, the School of Accounting, UEH College of Business organized an introduction session for the international transfer program expected to be implemented in collaboration with the University of Queensland (Australia). The event drew strong interest from many students and lecturers, while also opening up numerous opportunities for academic connection between the two units.

Attending the program on behalf of UEH were: Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the College of Business; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Chief of Office of the College of Business; Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao An - Dean of the School of Accounting; Dr. Phan Thi Bao Quyen - Vice Dean of the School of Accounting; together with leaders of departments, program directors, course cluster heads, lecturers, and a large number of students from the School of Accounting.

Representing the University of Queensland were Prof. Andrew Griffiths - Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, and Ms. Laura Hassett, Senior Manager of International Partnerships, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen, Rector of the College of Business, emphasized that developing international cooperation programs is an important orientation to improve training quality and expand flexible learning options for students in the context of integration. Agreeing with this view, Prof. Andrew Griffiths highly appreciated the cooperation potential between the two sides and shared experience in implementing joint training models, thereby strengthening cross-border academic connections and providing learners with access to an international education environment, professional competence, and global skills.

At the program, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Cam Trang provided an overview of the proposed 2.5+1.5 international transfer pathway in collaboration with the University of Queensland, helping students better understand their study options and future development orientation. Next, Ms. Laura Hassett shared insights on the learning environment, international student support services, and real-life experiences in Australia, offering a concrete perspective on the study-abroad journey. The program attracted strong interest from many School of Accounting students, while also providing further information about learning and experiential opportunities in a global education environment.

A highlight of the program was the UEH Flag Journey ceremony - a symbol of the 50-year journey and the spirit of sustainable cooperation between the UEH College of Business and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, University of Queensland, while affirming the commitment to expanding cooperation in training, research, and academic exchange between the two sides.

Through this event, the School of Accounting, UEH College of Business continues to affirm its orientation of strengthening international cooperation, expanding academic connections, and creating more high-quality learning opportunities for learners. In the coming time, the two sides will continue to exchange and refine cooperation contents, aiming to develop training programs that align with learner needs and international integration trends.

Toward the 50-year milestone (27/10/1976 – 27/10/2026), the UEH 50+ Global Partners in 5 Continents “Embracing Global Connection” program, held throughout 2026, is a strategic initiative to connect 50 partners across 5 continents, expand and deepen UEH’s global cooperation network, promote transnational academic, training, and research collaboration, and affirm UEH’s role as a multidisciplinary, sustainable university in the global knowledge ecosystem.

The program is part of the series of 22 key activities aimed at repositioning and assigning new roles to the 8 heritage values created over UEH’s 50-year journey: Unity - Compassion - Dedication - Community - Pioneering - Creation - Sustainability - Internationalization.
