Shark Linh shares with UEH students on the topic of Knowledge Transformation - Mastering Skills.

Generation Z - born between 1995 and 2005 - who is gradually becoming the primary workforce of society is predicted to be the group that shapes the new trend of the world economy and is most affected by the 4.0 revolution. Unlike previous generations, Generation Z is expected to possess the skills and knowledge to solve complex problems that technology can hardly or cannot handle. So what are the key skills for the most dynamic generation today? More importantly, how to transform knowledge into skills and apply them fluently to work and life.
To help students clarify the topic, on the morning of March 30th, 2021, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA Vietnam) co-organized the seminar "Knowledge Transformation - Mastery of Skills" at Hall B1.302 (Campus B). Overview of the Seminar
Attending the program, on the side of UEH, there was MSc. Nguyen Van Duong - Head of Care and Support for Students. On the side of ACCA Vietnam, there were Ms. Nguyen Thuy Minh Chau - Director of ACCA Mekong Region. Creating opportunities for students to rub and come into contact with reality is the strategic orientation of the university. With that goal, UEH regularly organizes activities to improve skills for students. This seminar helps students, especially Generation Z, to optimize their knowledge and master practical skills to meet the increasing requirements of the 4.0 era. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to connect students and businesses to bring attractive career opportunities for students in the future.

At the seminar, the students were shared multi-dimensional perspectives by Shark Thai Van Linh on topics such as: Current reality about the gap between knowledge and skills of students; what employers expect from candidates, especially GenZ; experience on how to transform knowledge into practical work and master one's own skills (advantages, difficults); steps to determine priority skills that need to be cultivated; how to choose an effective learning and training channel, environment to apply the learned knowledge.
Shark Linh advises young people whenever they want to change jobs, they must accept that they may have to start from scratch and need to ignore their ego to learn as much as possible. It doesn't matter what you're doing, what you're learning, what your first job is; it's important that you're really good at what you're doing, then it's easier to switch between jobs. Two years is the minimum amount of time for you to stick with a job; Thus, it is possible to create trust in the eyes of employers. To succeed, you have to work hard!

The seminar ended in the joyful atmosphere of the students. The workshop gave students useful updates on the necessary skills in the 4.0 era, how to optimally apply knowledge to the corporate environment, future career orientations to catch the trend of the 4.0 era; at the same time, it helped to connect students with enterprises, creating a preem for their career path and success in the future.
