On the afternoon of April 29, 2025, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UNDP (United Nations Development Program). The event marked a new step forward in the operation and development of both sides, a milestone for the strategic cooperation between UEH and UNDP in improving the quality of training, scientific research, and implementing sustainable development initiatives for the student and researcher community.
At the signing ceremony, on behalf of UEH, there was Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the UEH Strategy and Policy Advisory Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Rector of the College of Economics, Law and Government; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement, along with lecturers and staff of UEH.
On behalf of UNDP in Vietnam, there was the participation of Ms. Ramla Khalidi - UNDP Residing Representative in Vietnam; Ms. Pham Thu Trang - Officer for Youth Social Impact and Innovation at UNDP Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh remarked: “With the mission of accompanying the young generation in the journey of creating a sustainable future, the MOU between UEH and UNDP is a meaningful milestone affirming the strong commitment to promoting innovation, supporting start-up ideas and building a community of empowered youth, fully equipped with knowledge and skills in the era of digital transformation and green transformation. This cooperation opens new training initiatives and creates a playground for the youth community to learn, exchange knowledge, and develop comprehensively. Concurrently, this is also an open door to connect partners and mobilize resources to expand the scale and to spread the positive impact of cooperation initiatives in the future”.

Following that, Ms. Ramla Khalidi - UNDP Residing Representative in Vietnam - emphasized the importance of the young generation, the pioneering force in creativity and innovation. The cooperation between UEH and UNDP is an essential step in the journey of empowering the young generation, including students, lecturers, and startups through creative ideas, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

At the Ceremony, the two sides agreed and signed a number of important contents and areas of cooperation, marking a journey of sustainable development.
+ Cooperation to promote innovation and entrepreneurship for youth and support early-stage ideas and the development stage of the startup ecosystem;
+ Co-development of research and recommendation of policies related to youth empowerment, digital transformation, and sustainable development;
+ Cooperation in implementing initiatives to train skills and mindset for youth to succeed in the context of digital transformation and green transformation;
+ Facilitation of mutual learning and capacity development through knowledge exchange and academic collaboration;
+ Mobilization of resources and strategic partners to scale collaborative initiatives.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is one of the pioneering organizations in sustainable development, community empowerment, and capacity building for countries to face global challenges. With a network of activities in more than 170 countries and territories, UNDP has been supporting governments and communities to implement solutions to address hunger and reduce poverty, promote social equity, digital transformation, combat climate change, and create a green, sustainable future. In Vietnam, UNDP is an active partner of strategic partners in the journey of youth empowerment, community development, and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The signing ceremony of MOU between UEH and UNDP not only opens up meaningful cooperation opportunities but also affirms a strong commitment to accompanying the young generation on the journey of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. With the joint efforts of strategic partners, practical initiatives will continue to be implemented, spreading knowledge values, empowering young people, and actively contributing to digital transformation and green transformation in Vietnam. The road ahead promises many outstanding milestones, continuing to affirm the pioneering role of UEH and UNDP in creating the future for a better world.
