Signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement on student and faculty exchange program between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands

On November 19, 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Saxion), one of the largest institutions for applied sciences education in the Netherlands, held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement on a student and faculty exchange program.

From UEH, the ceremony was attended by: Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao - Deputy Head, Deparment of Research, Development, and Global Engagement; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Associate Rector of College of Business UEH; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Rector of College of Business UEH; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Head, COB office; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Dean, School of Accounting; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hai Ly - Vice Dean, School of Finance; Dr. Hoang Cuu Long - Vice Dean, School of International Business and Marketing.

From Saxion University of Applied Sciences: Ms. Anka Mulder - President of Saxion University; Mr. Janco Bonnink - Director of Education & Student Support and Director of the International Office; Mr. Sander Reinderink - Head of the Finance, Accounting, and International Business Faculty; Prof. Timber Haaker - Head of Business Model Research; Ms. Ngoc Ngo - Director of Strategic Partnerships.

UEH signed ACA with Saxion

Opening the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh stated: "At UEH, we strive to become a globally recognized leader in multidisciplinary and sustainable education. This agreement signifies our shared commitment to offering enriching exchange opportunities for faculty, staff, and students at both universities."

UEH presents souvenirs to Saxion representative

Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UEH and Saxion University, and the Academic Cooperation Agreement (ACA) for transfer programs allowing Accounting students to study and earn a Bachelor’s degree at Saxion, both institutions have formalized the agreement to implement student and faculty exchange programs.

Opportunities under the Agreement:

- International Student Exchange: Students can spend a semester at the prestigious Saxion University, experiencing advanced education and life in Europe.

- Short-term Teaching and Research: UEH faculty members can participate in professional exchange, collaborative research, and career development in an international academic setting.

This collaboration not only opens global learning and teaching opportunities, enabling faculty and students to access international educational standards, but also reinforces UEH's mission of becoming a sustainable, multidisciplinary university. Furthermore, it enhances UEH’s connectivity and standing within the network of leading universities worldwide, fostering impactful research and development on a global scale.

Saxion University of Applied Sciences is a public university located in the eastern Netherlands, with three campuses in vibrant cities: Deventer, Enschede, and Apeldoorn. Currently, Saxion serves approximately 27,000 students, including 3,500 international students from various countries, enrolled in preparatory programs, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees. Saxion offers more than 30 diverse programs, ranging from economics to engineering disciplines. Its international programs are accredited by both domestic and international bodies, ensuring global recognition. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from Saxion provides graduates with ample career opportunities, whether in Vietnam or across the globe.
