Students of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City excellently awarded at the 2023 Science and Technology Awards for students in higher education institutions

On the afternoon of November 10, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Associations of Science and Technology, Central Communist Youth Union Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Da Nang University organized a closing and science and technology awarding ceremony to students in higher education institutions.

The Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions is an annual award that commends outstanding achievements and encourages students to participate in scientific research activities, aiming to contribute to improving the quality of training and fostering young scientific talents. The group of students from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was honored to receive 2 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes and 4 Consolation Prizes in the field of Social Sciences at the Science and Technology Awards for students in higher education institutions.

The first Second Prize was awarded to the topic "The Impact of Tiktok UGC Videos on Online Purchase Intention in Ho Chi Minh City: The Mediating Role of Cognitive States" by a group of students including Sy Hai, Le Bui Thao Duyen, Le Thi Quynh Giang and Nguyen Anh Phi. This topic focuses on researching the impact of user-generated content videos on the Tiktok platform on consumers' purchasing intentions on this growing commercial platform with the supervision of Dr. Nguyen Hue Minh.

The topic "How does Green Finance Mitigate Environmental Degradation?" was conducted by a group of students including Phan Nguyen Anh Quan, Nguyen Tan Phap, Nguyen Minh Hieu, Vo Van Hoang Ngan, and Nguyen Ho Xuan Tra, under the supervision of Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Phuong Vy, excellently achieved the Second Prize at the competition. This research topic focuses on analyzing the impacts of Green Finance in minimizing environmental degradation towards sustainable development in the future.

The third prizes were awarded to the following topics:

"Digital literacy, financial literacy and financial management behavior: Empirical data from Vietnam" conducted by Thai Thi Van Anh with the supervision of Dr. Phan Chung Thuy.

"Negative online word of mouth: The further understanding towards its impact on anti-brand activism and the moderator role of psychological discomfort" by the student group of Nguyen Thanh Truc, Nguyen Trinh Quynh Nhu, La My Phung, Nguyen Ngoc Yen Nhi performed with the supervision of Ms. Do Ngoc Bich.

"Regulations on transgender people and harmony with international law - Current status and recommendations for Vietnam" by the student group of Nguyen Thi Thai Hoa, Nguyen Tram Trieu Thanh, Hoang Nhung Huyen, Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Nhan carried out with the supervision of Mr. Mai Nguyen Dung.

"The impact of monetary policy and economic policy uncertainty on bank performance: The moderating role of business model" carried out by a group of students Pham Cat Son, Nguyen Gia Huy, Vo Van Hoang Ngan, Vo Thanh Luan with the supervision of Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Hai Ly.

"Russia - Ukraine conflict: Reactions of capital, oil and gas, energy and metals markets" by the student group of Vo Thanh Luan, Pham Hoang Thien An, Nguyen Dang Nhat, Do Trung Nghia, Nguyen Thanh Phuoc with the supervision of Mr. To Cong Nguyen Bao.

"Esg and dividends: The winning combination for savvy stock investors" conducted by a group of students Tran Dinh Hoang, Nguyen Hong Hanh, Dinh Thi Lan Huong, Nguyen Le Thu Tra, Truong Hoang Bao Tran with the supervision of Mr. To Cong Nguyen Bao.

Consolation awards belong to the following topics:

"Non-Fungible Token (NFT): Millennials' Acceptance toward NFT transactions" conducted by a group of students Tran Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thai Nguyen, Ho Huynh Xuan Trang, Nguyen Hong Xuan Nhung and Nguyen Tran Yen Nhi with the supervision of Dr. Dinh Tien Minh.

"How ethical behaviore is considered in different contexts: A bibliometric analysis of global research trends using VOSviewer" conducted by a group of students Tran Yen Quyen, Ha Thuy An, Mai Dang Thu Hien, Bui Tran Phuong Uyen, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao with the supervision of Ms. Le Vu Lan Oanh.

"An investigation on Gen Z about customer vulnerabilities and their behavioral outcomes" conducted by a group of two students Pham Thi My Hanh and Phan Hien Thao with the supervision of Dr. Le Thi Hong Minh.

"Explore Tiktok shop: Its competitive advantages and behavioral Gen Z consumers in Vietnam" conducted by a group of students Pham Ngoc Minh Hieu, Nguyen Thi Truc Ly, Nguyen Thi Mai Suong, Le Thi Xuan Thuy with the supervision of Dr. Le Thi Hong Minh.

The journey of creating UEH common values does not stop at training professionals but also focuses on developing comprehensive competencies for students. UEH students are encouraged to become creative, autonomous, and capable of creating values for the community. The successes in the field of scientific research and practical application of UEH students are a clear testament to advancement on that journey.
