From June 17th to June 20th, 2024, Université Côte d’Azur (UCA), France coordinated with the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia (TUKE) to organize a consortium meeting and IPC staff training on digital transformation at UCA, France, within the framework of the project “Bridging Digital Divide in Mongolia and Vietnam through HEI’s Digital Transformation” (DIGITAL-MOVE). These were activities in WP1 & WP3 of the project. The University of Danang (VN), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (VN), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (VN), Can Tho University (VN), Quy Nhon University (VN), Nha Trang University (VN), Tay Nguyen University (VN), CITI University-CITI University Institute (Mongolia), University of Life Sciences (Mongolia), Otoch Manramba University, Erdenet Institute of Technology (Mongolia), Université Côte d’Azur (France) and The Technical University of Košice (Slovakia) nominated representatives to participate in in-person consortium meeting and IPC staff training.

Participants who joined the IPC staff training course were provided with knowledge and skills in designing digital lectures, digital learning materials, organizing training in the digital environment, and digital management. On that basis, delegates had the opportunity to exchange and discuss to raise awareness of the role and importance of digital transformation in higher education, and orientations to promote digital transformation in training at universities in Vietnam in general and Vietnamese partners participating in the project in particular. This was also an opportunity to support digital technology application skills for lecturers, and support and accompany students in digital education activities, contributing to the formation and creation of digital culture in higher education institutions in the trend of higher education development in the 4.0 era.

The DIGITAL-MOVE project is funded by the European Community (EC) to strengthen the higher education institution’s capacity in developing countries. The project was built to achieve main goals such as: developing a digital transformation culture in higher education institutions in Mongolia and Vietnam; promoting digital transformation culture; and developing digital soft skills for lecturers, students, specialists, and managers through training courses…
13 universities are participating in the DIGITAL MOVE project, including 4 institutes and schools of Mongolia (CITI University, Mongolian University of Life Sciences, Otoch Manramba University – Otoch Manramba University, and Erdenet Institute of Technology), 2 universities in Europe (Université Côte d’Azur – Université Côte d’Azur (France) and the Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia), and 07 Vietnamese universities including the University of Danang, Tay Nguyen University, Nha Trang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Can Tho University, Quy Nhon University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics. The project will be implemented from February 2023 to February 2026, with a total budget of 783,570 EURO. The key outcomes of the project are as follows: 07 universities in Vietnam and 4 universities in Mongolia have improved digital transformation capacity; 10 subjects on digital transformation for undergraduate students and 06 subjects for graduate students in the field of digital transformation have been updated and revised for teaching. There will be 400 turns of students, 100 turns of lecturers, 100 turns of officials, and 30 turns of leaders and managers trained in digital transformation at higher education institutions; 2 digital events will be held in Vietnam and Mongolia; 01 guiding document to promote digital transformation, 01 document on teaching/learning methods in the digital environment at higher education institutions (handbook) and 01 policy report on digital transformation will be published in 2 languages, Vietnamese and Mongolian versions.
