The delegation of Hanoi University of Science and Technology visiting UEH

On the morning of May 30, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized a meeting to welcome the delegation of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The visit contributed to tightening the relationship between the two schools and is an opportunity for both sides to learn, to discuss and to exchange experiences on issues in the university governance model.

On behalf of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, there was the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang - Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Minh Hoang - Chief of Office; Assoc.Prof.D. Ngo Chi Trung - Head of Inspection, Legal and Internal Audit Department; Ms. Dao Thi Thuy - Deputy Head of the Inspection, Legal and Internal Audit Department.

Welcoming the delegation of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, on behalf of UEH, was Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Director of UEH; Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son - Deputy Chief of Office, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Standing Deputy Head of Research - Development and Global Engagement; Mr. Tran Hoang Tam - Standing Deputy Head of Finance - Investment Planning; Dr. Doan Dinh Lam - Deputy Head of Infrastructure Management; Dr. Nguyen Tan Khuyen - Head of Inspectorate; Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Head of Department of Student Affairs.

Overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh expressed his excitement regarding the presence of the delegation from Hanoi University of Science and Technology: "University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has a long history of development with core values in the public university system in Vietnam. In recent years, UEH and Hanoi University of Science and Technology have been two pioneers in developing the University model, which means that we will have been sharing together general problems in university development and operations. Our UEH team always constantly searches for new methods to effectively solve these problems. Therefore, we look forward to exchanging more with Hanoi University of Science and Technology regarding experiences in university operations and administration.”

The meeting took place in an open and exciting atmosphere with discussion sessions sharing experiences on issues: plans to deploy and to improve services for learners and lecturers; to develop international cooperation activities, to improve the quality of programs; solutions for development and diversification of revenue sources; and legal assurance for university activities. These are key and extremely challenging issues posed to both UEH and Hanoi University of Science and Technology upon their developing the University model in recent years.

With positive exchanges, the meeting illustrate the cohesion in the cooperative relationship and common values between the two Universities. This is an opportunity for UEH and Hanoi University of Science and Technology to further expand cooperation in a variety of fields in the future, contributing together to a common university development model as well as bringing positive values to the Vietnamese education system.
