On the afternoon of October 31, 2025, in response to the "HCMC Student Week for Pioneering Development in Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation 2025," the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnamese Students' Association of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) collaborated with the UEH Green Campus project, with the partnership of VinGroup's Green Future Fund, to successfully organize the "Ho Chi Minh City Students with Green Practices and Sustainable Action" forum. The event also officially launched the Let's Green UniTour Project through a signing ceremony with 10 co-organizing units.

Representing the HCMC Youth Union and Vietnamese Students' Association were Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the HCMC Youth Union, and President of the Vietnamese Students' Association of HCMC. From the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH College of Business; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Mai Hoai - Dean of the UEH Sustainable Finance Institute; MA. Le Thi Hanh An - Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Partnerships and Manager of the UEH Green Campus project; MA. Nguyen Thi Thuong Nho - Secretary of the UEH Youth Union; and Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - President of the UEH Students' Association. The program was also honored to welcome Mr. Quach Canh Toan - Marketing & CSR Director of the Green Future Fund - Vingroup, along with representatives from the Youth Union and Students' Association of the 10 co-organizing universities of the Let's Green UniTour Project, and the participation of over 8,000 students from 10 universities and colleges across the city.

Overview of the program
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH College of Business, affirmed: “UEH considers sustainable development a strategic pillar in the operational philosophy of a multidisciplinary and community-oriented university, serving as the guiding principle for all research, teaching, and governance activities. With the pioneering spirit of Ho Chi Minh City's students, and the partnership of universities, businesses, social organizations, and the Green Future Fund, Let's Green UniTour will become a meaningful symbol of the green spirit of the city's youth—a place where knowledge is linked to responsibility, and creativity goes hand in hand with action for a green future.”

The forum also featured an insightful speech from Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the HCMC Youth Union, and President of the Vietnamese Students' Association of HCMC. He highlighted the awareness and responsibility of the city's youth in Vietnam's green transition and sustainable development, inspiring a pioneering spirit and proactive action for a green and sustainable future for the community.

Following the opening, the forum featured two in-depth presentations from experts. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Mai Hoai - Dean of the UEH Sustainable Finance Institute, began with a presentation on “Sustainable Development: Adaptation Strategies and Challenges for Businesses.” She provided a comprehensive overview of current environmental issues, emphasized the importance of global sustainable development, and called upon the younger generation to take practical action in the face of environmental challenges.

Continuing the program, MA. Le Thi Hanh An - Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Partnerships and Manager of the UEH Green Campus Project, delivered a presentation on “The Green University Model and the Actions of New-Era Students,” introducing the green models UEH is implementing and the five core values of the UEH Green Campus. She emphasized that sustainable development is not just a long-term goal but a philosophy of action that needs to be nurtured within the educational environment, shaping the green mindset and lifestyle of students.

In parallel, student presentations were also shared at the forum, covering topics such as green digital transformation, sustainable consumption, and the circular economy, demonstrating the proactive, creative, and socially responsible spirit of the young generation in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program officially launched the Let's Green UniTour 2025 Project—a journey to spread UEH's Green University model, connecting universities, businesses, and social organizations within a sustainable ecosystem, with the aim of building a Green University Network in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Quach Canh Toan – Marketing & CSR Director of the Green Future Fund - Vingroup, affirmed the Fund's commitment to partnering with the Let's Green UniTour Project on its journey to spread the spirit of green living and sustainable development among Vietnamese students.

Within the program's framework, the UEH Youth Union and Students' Association officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Youth Union and Students' Association of 10 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City to jointly implement the Let's Green UniTour Project, embarking on a new journey where the city's students act together for a green university and a sustainable community.

The "Ho Chi Minh City Students with Green Practices and Sustainable Action" Forum and the Let's Green UniTour Project Kick-off concluded successfully, marking the beginning of the Ho Chi Minh City Green University Network. The ceremony affirmed the pioneering role of higher education in promoting sustainable development and launched a journey to spread the green spirit to the entire student community of the city.
