THE Publishes World University Rankings 2025 by Subject: UEH is leading Vietnamese Universities in Traditional Fields, Ranking Among the Top Global Universities

The Times Higher Education (THE) has officially announced the results of the World University Rankings by Subject 2025. The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has ranked in the Top 301+ for Economics and Business in addition to being in the Top 501+ for Social Sciences, leading among Vietnamese universities in these fields. This achievement highlights UEH's continuous commitment to excellence and their strong position on the global academic stage.

The Times Higher Education (THE) has officially released the results of the World University Rankings by Subject 2025, with the participation of 2,092 higher education institutions worldwide. In accordance with the rankings, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has secured a spot in the Top 301+ for Economics and Business besides the Top 501+ for Social Sciences, leading among Vietnamese universities in these fields.

In the context of the international ranking system, UEH's performance in these two long-established fields signifies that the UEH University's traditional academic programs are not only at the forefront in Vietnam but also meet the quality standards of the world's leading universities.

This achievement is a key foundation for UEH’s strategic direction to expand their curriculum with new interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and transdisciplinary programs, including: ArtTech, MarTech, FinTech, LogTech, Digital Business (Biztech), Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management, Data Analysis, and more. Additionally, the university is developing programs aligned with trends in technology, engineering, and applied design, like Smart City, Computer Science, Information Technology, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Control and Automation, and others.

Therefore, alongside being ranked in the Top 501+ of the world’s leading universities in the 2024 THE rankings, UEH may be considered a "study abroad" option close to home, offering the quality of education found in global universities for high school students and learners at all levels in Vietnam.

The THE rankings are dependent upon the following five criteria: (i) Research Quality, (ii) Industry, (iii) International Outlook, (iv) Research Environment, and (v) Teaching. The ranking of UEH’s fields in the Top demonstrates the comprehensive quality of the university's training, research, and internationalization strategies.

It is acknowledged that by the end of 2024, UEH successfully accredited 06 academic programs according to the international quality standards set by FIBAA (Europe), bringing the total number of FIBAA-accredited programs at UEH to 19, alongside 7 programs accredited by AUN-QA (Southeast Asia). This reflects the UEH University’s cautious yet steady progress toward achieving the quality standards of the world’s top universities.

These results not only prove UEH’s capabilities in education and research but also highlight the UEH University's commitment to implementing their strategy of becoming a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University, focusing on high-quality education and research, and using knowledge as a foundation to address social challenges and to create positive impact.
