The second day of the UEH Day 2025 journey - July 25, 2025 - marked a significant milestone with two key events: the UEH 2025 - 2030 Strategic Kick-off Conference and the UEH 2025 General Assembly of Staff and Employees. On this occasion, the entire UEHer community came together to share in a common vision and strategy, honoring the core values cultivated over the past fifty years while making a collective commitment to a sustainable future.
After nearly 50 years of establishment and development, UEH has evolved from being “a leading book of knowledge within the nation” to “a pioneering sail on the voyage of global knowledge integration.” This transformation is grounded in UEH’s solid internal foundation: academic prestige, a modern governance system, and deep-rooted community impact.
The year 2025 not only marks the lead-up to UEH’s 50th anniversary but also represents a pivotal moment of strategic transformation - where a new vision begins to unfold alongside sustainable development orientations for the next half-century. In this journey, the spirit of ONE UEH - the unity and synergy of every individual and unit within the system - becomes more vital than ever, as it both preserves the institution’s rich traditions and simultaneously fosters innovation and adaptability to meet the challenges of the new era.
The UEH 2025–2030 Strategic Kick-off Conference, held under the theme “Together, We Share Vision and Sustainable Future,” served as the starting point for this transformative journey.
The conference welcomed distinguished guests and delegates, including leaders from central ministries and national agencies, external members of the UEH University Council, and representatives from the National Economics University. From UEH, the event was attended by:

+ Prof. Dr. Sử Đình Thành, President of UEH;
+ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Quang Hùng, Vice President;
+ Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Quốc Bảo, Vice President;
+ Dr. Đinh Công Khải, Vice President;
+ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thị Bích Nguyệt, Chair of the Strategic and Policy Advisory Council; alongside leaders of member colleges and campuses, heads of offices, departments, and centers across UEH, and nearly 900 faculty members and staff.
An Overview of the UEH 2025 - 2030 Strategic Kick-off Conference
In his opening remarks at the conference, Prof. Dr. Sử Đình Thành, President of UEH, emphasized:
“Since the early days following national reunification, UEH was established with a historic mission: to build a core workforce for the Southern economy. From there, a ‘book of knowledge’ was opened - written through the efforts of many generations, fueled by academic passion, and driven by an unceasing spirit of innovation.
As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2025, our goal is not merely to look back on past glory, but to look ahead - with greater strength, deeper unity, and a more profound sense of aspiration.
Today, from the pages written over five decades of perseverance, we open a new chapter together: the strategic journey for 2025 - 2030, with a vision toward 2045 - where UEH is not just a university, but a gateway to global knowledge, and a center of innovation and sustainability for future generations.”

UEH’s Strategic Plan for the 2025 - 2030 period, with a vision toward 2045, is not only a continuation of its past achievements but also a bold commitment to becoming a pioneering multidisciplinary university - innovative, globally integrated, and ready to lead in education, research, and knowledge dissemination to the broader community.
This strategic vision and its key orientations were presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Quang Hùng and Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Quốc Bảo, both Vice Presidents of UEH, in the keynote session titled “UEH Development Strategy for 2025–2030, Vision to 2045.”

A development strategy only comes to life when it moves beyond written directives - its true vitality emerges through shared understanding, critical reflection, and collective refinement by those who will bring it into action. At today’s conference, UEH faculty and staff came together to contribute insights and feedback, collaboratively shaping and enhancing the strategic directions that will guide UEH’s advancement in the years ahead.

UEH has proudly journeyed through half a century, and today’s event marked the official launch of a series of activities celebrating the university’s 50th anniversary in 2026. Announcing the commencement of this milestone celebration, Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đông Phong, Chairman of the University Council, emphasized:
“The 50th Anniversary of UEH is a meaningful occasion for the entire UEH family to reflect on the journey we have traveled - celebrating proud achievements, learning from past limitations, and honoring the core values that have shaped UEH’s prestige and resilience today.
At the same time, this milestone is a moment to reignite our aspirations as we enter a new phase of development.
With a spirit of global integration, knowledge dissemination, and future creation, I firmly believe that all UEH officials, staff, and employees will continue to uphold their sense of responsibility and unite alongside the university leadership to prepare a truly meaningful, dignified, and profound series of 50th anniversary activities.
For this series to be successful, we must begin planning now - with careful preparation across all dimensions: from emulation and commendation efforts, event planning, branding and communications, to logistical coordination and the active involvement of all UEH unions and associations such as the Trade Union, Youth Union, Student Association, and Veterans Association, each organizing special programs to mark this historic occasion.
With just over a year to go, I call on all UEH members to commit wholeheartedly and give their utmost effort in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to them - as a sincere intellectual and emotional investment for our future. So that when that historic moment arrives, we will not only joyfully celebrate a milestone, but also take pride in having laid a solid foundation for UEH to grow stronger, contribute meaningfully to national economic development, and affirm its position on the global stage.”

A strategy does not begin with mere words - it is born from a spirit of unity and pioneering vision. At the event, nearly 900 UEH faculty and staff joined together in a powerful activation ceremony - A COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT to embark on a new journey: a journey of CONTINUITY under the banner of ONE UEH, defined by UNITY and LEADERSHIP.
In this proud and symbolic moment:
The achievements of the past were honored
The internal strength and inherited identity were affirmed
The future was envisioned and set into motion.
Together, the UEH community made a shared pledge for the university’s future:
By 2030, UEH will maintain its standing among the top 250 universities in Asia.
By 2045, UEH aspires to officially enter the top 100 universities in Asia.
UEH senior leaders, along with representatives from member colleges and regional campuses, performed the ceremonial launch of the UEH ship - symbolically setting sail on the ocean of knowledge. This marked the official beginning of UEH’s bold strategic journey for the 2025–2030 period, with a visionary outlook toward 2045.
Nearly 900 UEH faculty and staff members gathered in the main hall to collectively press the launch button, symbolically activating the university’s new strategic phase.
At that very moment, the powerful voices and melodies of the song “One UEH: Together We Share” rose in unison - resounding with pride and unity. This heartfelt performance marked the official conclusion of the special journey that was the UEH 2025 - 2030 Strategic Kick-off Conference, held under the theme “Together, We Share Vision and Sustainable Future.”

Continuing the momentum of this meaningful series of events, the UEH 2025 General Assembly of Officers and Employees was successfully held on the afternoon of July 25, 2025, accomplishing several key milestones:
+ Election of new members to the University Council;
+ Nomination of candidates for the position of Chairman of the University Council;
+ Official nomination of the Chairman candidate for the 2025 - 2030 term by the UEH leadership team;
+ Ratification of the Chairman candidate by the UEH Party Committee;
+ Convening of the first session of the University Council for the 2025 - 2030 term, during which the Chairman was formally elected.

The second day of the UEH Day 2025 journey officially concluded with the successful organization of the UEH 2025 - 2030 Strategic Kick-off Conference and the UEH 2025 General Assembly of Staff and Employees. From this pivotal moment, a new and aspirational chapter of UEH begins - one that will be written by future generations of UEHers, grounded in the inherited core values of ONE UEH: Dedication – Connection – Inspiration – Innovation – Sustainability.
