The meeting took place in a particularly warm atmosphere, with many UEH lecturers emotionally sharing cherished memories of their time as VUW alumni. Representatives of VUW cited a meaningful Māori proverb: “When paddling a waka canoe, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. In this partnership, we want to continue paddling together so that we can go even further.”
