[UEH Alumni Reunion] 30th Graduation Anniversary Meeting of the 17th Cohort – Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Accountancy (1996 - 2026)

On June 7, 2026, 112 alumni of the 17th Cohort gathered in Ho Chi Minh City to attend the 30th graduation anniversary meeting (1996 - 2026) at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Accountancy (now UEH). This was a special occasion for alumni of the 17th Cohort to reunite with former classmates, reflect on their journey, and create more cherished memories under their alma mater. The event also helped spread the "Gratitude" pillar—one of the five key pillars of community development fostered by UEH Alumni—by honoring the school, teachers, friends, and values that have accompanied generations of alumni throughout their growth.

Some reunions take only a few days or a few months to arrange. Others take three decades. After months of preparation and anticipation, travelling from many different provinces and countries, 112 alumni of Cohort 17 returned to their alma mater to attend the reunion marking the 30th anniversary of their graduation.

The rush of the days of return. From many different places, 112 members of Cohort 17 came together at their old university to continue the promise left unfinished in their youth.

In the atmosphere of the reunion, stories of youth and memories of lecture halls and dormitory life were revisited like a film played in slow motion, shared among the members of Cohort 17. Thirty years on, each person has left their own mark in life and career, yet the university remains a special point of connection, a place that preserves the foundational values that have shaped each individual’s journey.

Beyond looking back on the road travelled, the occasion was also a chance for alumni to look towards the future, affirming the role of the UEH Alumni community in connecting knowledge, experience and resources to accompany the generations of learners to come.

We never lost each other; it simply took a very long way around to meet again.

Returning to their alma mater after 30 years, the alumni of Cohort 17 toured the campus together, capturing memorable moments and reliving the memories tied to their student days. It was also an occasion for each member to look back on the journey they have travelled and to appreciate even more deeply the values the university has given them along the path of learning, growth and contribution.

A handshake after 30 years apart, where memories once thought distant suddenly feel closer than ever.

On this special occasion, representatives of the Cohort 17 alumni presented a scholarship worth VND 40 million to students living at the UEH Dormitory.

The gift carries meaning beyond material support: it reflects the spirit of Contribution and Co-creation within the alumni community - people ready to share their resources, experience and sense of social responsibility in order to accompany the next generation.

This activity also helps realize the vision of UEH Alumni in building a global and closely connected alumni community, where values are spread, knowledge is connected and practical actions are carried out for the sustainable development of learners, the university and society.

As the reunion drew to a close, the return journey of Cohort 17 stood as an occasion to look back on the years of youth spent at their old university, and an opportunity to keep nurturing the bond between alumni and UEH. From gratitude towards the place where their journey of knowledge began, to their contributions for the generation that follows, the members of Cohort 17 have continued writing the story of the UEH Alumni community - a place where values are preserved, shared and carried forward through time.
