On June 20, 2026, 63 alumni of the 12th Cohort gathered in Ho Chi Minh City to attend the 35th graduation anniversary meeting (1991 - 2026) at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Accountancy (now UEH). After more than three decades, this reunion was not only an opportunity for former classmates to reconnect and reminisce about their youth, but also a chance to spread the values of Gratitude, Contribution, and Co-creation—key pillars of community development that UEH Alumni continuously fosters through the spirit of appreciation, sharing, and accompanying future generations.

Cohort 12 comes together on their day of return, marking 35 years of “Connection - Compassion - Sharing”

Some memories remain vivid in the heart even after 35 years. Some reunions seem to exist only in nostalgia, yet the moment you return to your old university, everything feels as though it happened just yesterday. From many different places, 63 members of Cohort 12 gathered to continue the story of their youth, where friendship, fellowship and love for the university remain intact through the years.

The journey of return began at the very place that holds their unforgettable student years. The alumni of Cohort 12 toured the 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong campus, a place tied to countless learning memories, before returning to the 43-45 Nguyen Chi Thanh Dormitory - the "shared home" of their younger days.

Every corner of the yard, every corridor, every room brought back stories that seemed to have fallen asleep over the years. Memories of lectures, of nights spent studying together for exams, of simple student meals and of laughter echoing along the dormitory corridors were retold with all the emotion of people who once grew up together under this roof.

The journey back to the university and the 43-45 Dormitory - the place that holds the youthful memories of many generations of UEH students.

Cohort 12’s 35-year journey - from their days in the lecture hall to the activities that have bound them together, shared with one another and spread good values to the community.

Beyond memories of lecture halls and the dormitory, Cohort 12’s journey has also been written through 35 years of steadfast companionship. From their days studying together at the university to the moment each person set out on their own path in life, the members have always preserved their bond, meeting regularly, sharing with one another and joining hands in many meaningful activities.

In the spirit of "Connection - Compassion - Sharing", Cohort 12 has not only preserved friendship and fellowship but has also carried out many community-oriented programmes, supporting children in disadvantaged areas and sending love through charitable activities and projects rich in humanistic value. Thirty-five years on, what remains is not only the beautiful memories of youth but also a community always ready to accompany, to share and to keep spreading good values to this day.

Returning not only to honour the past, the alumni of Cohort 12 also looked to the future with practical actions for the next generation. On the occasion of the Alumni Dormitory Festival “Embracing Belonging - The Journey Back to the UEH Shared Home” held on 13 June 2026 as part of the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of UEH, representatives of the Cohort 12 alumni presented VND 35 million in scholarships to students living at the 43-45 Nguyen Chi Thanh Dormitory.

Representatives of Cohort 12 receive a letter of thanks from UEH, recognizing their contribution of VND 35 million in scholarships to students of the 43-45 Dormitory, helping to inspire the next generation in their studies.

The gift carries meaning beyond material support: it reflects the spirit of sharing, responsibility and continuity across generations of UEH Alumni. It also stands as evidence of the values of Contribution and Co-creation, as the alumni community joins hands to contribute resources, spread knowledge and create further motivation for generations of students to continue learning, growing and contributing.

The final stop of the journey was an intimate gathering at Dong Ho Restaurant, where the members of Cohort 12 came together after many years apart. With no distance of time or geography left between them, stories of their student days were carried on through every word of greeting, every handshake and every burst of laughter. Each conversation not only recalled the years spent studying at their old university but also gave members a chance to share their journeys of growth, their careers and their lives over the past 35 years.

In the warm atmosphere of the reunion, the members of Cohort 12 looked back together on the road they have travelled, expressing gratitude to their teachers, their friends and the university that laid the first foundations for each person’s journey of growth. Those moments continued to spread the spirit of Gratitude and affirmed the meaning of the UEH Alumni community - where generations of alumni preserve their bond, accompany one another and carry good values forward through time.
