On the afternoon of May 16, 2025, the delegation of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) had an important working session with the leaders of Khanh Hoa province to promote comprehensive cooperation in training, research, technology transfer, and to discuss the plan to build and develop the UEH Branch in Nha Trang with the orientation of becoming a modern, internationally integrated education and research center contributing to improving the quality of human resources and developing the local socio-economy.
Attending the meeting, on behalf of Khanh Hoa Province, there was the presence of Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments and services. On behalf of UEH, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of UEH; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao - Vice President of UEH; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council, along with leaders and experts from affiliated units.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the UEH Council - reported on the implementation results of the cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province and UEH for the period 2023 - 2028. UEH was committed to coordinating with provincial departments and services to implement high-quality human resource development programs, organizing in-depth training on policy making and socio-economic development management for leaders, promoting research and training on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. UEH was supporting the province in completing the establishment of the National Research Center for Ocean Technology in Khanh Hoa.
UEH was completing the requirements to start the project on building a branch in Nha Trang city, along with related procedures to establish the branch, expected to be operational by the end of 2026. The University proposed to temporarily borrow the location as a representative office at 273 Thong Nhat, Nha Trang city, and to invest in the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Project to promote innovation and entrepreneurship for local youth. On behalf of UEH, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong sincerely thanked Khanh Hoa province for their support and hoped to continue to receive guidance and facilitate cooperation activities to achieve high efficiency in the upcoming time.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - expressed his strong support for UEH's development plan, and confirmed that the province would agree to start construction of UEH Nha Trang project at the Bac Hon Ong School, Training and Vocational Area, Nha Trang city on August 19, 2025. This would be one of the key projects to welcome the 19th Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, the 2025 - 2030 term.
The province committed to directing departments and services to coordinate in resolving UEH's recommendations on borrowing premises as a temporary representative office for 3 years while facilitating the Youth Training, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center project to be well-implemented. The provincial Department of Education was also assigned to evaluate the overall content, curriculum, and facilities of Khanh Hoa College of Economics for UEH to consider acquisition. In addition, the province and UEH will coordinate in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on science and technology development, innovation, and Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private economic development to promote socio-economic development with the goal of double-digit growth.

In recent years, UEH has successfully coordinated and implemented many high-quality training and development programs for provincial officials, organized STEM training for teachers, international summer camps, and research, cultural, and business activities in the area. Notably, the project to establish a National Research Center for Ocean Technology in Khanh Hoa aims to promote the development of the local marine economy.
In particular, the project to build a training and research facility of UEH in Nha Trang City, to start construction in August 2025, will be a major turning point, marking the solid presence of UEH in Khanh Hoa to expand the training and research network with the orientation of internationalization and deep integration. UEH branch in Nha Trang is oriented to become UEH Nexus Campus, positioned as a hub connecting students, experts, and scholars globally. In addition to their strengths in business, economics, law, management, technology or applied design, this ecosystem will focus on training, research and development in specialized fields, including marine resources, marine spatial planning, sustainable marine economy, robots - AI, ocean technology, microchips, health care, spirit and psychology. Recently, the University has launched a program to recruit talented lecturers and administrators of UEH Global Talent for this campus, attracting the attention of many highly qualified candidates.

The meeting marked an important milestone, affirming the determination and close coordination between UEH and Khanh Hoa province to promote comprehensive cooperation in the fields of training, research, and innovation, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and sustainable socio-economic development of the Central Coast and Central Highlands.
