UEH and the University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA) Sign Memorandum of Understanding, Fostering Bilateral Strategic Cooperation

On February 9, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell, USA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a new milestone in the strategy to expand the international partner network and foster comprehensive academic cooperation between the two educational institutions.

In the context of increasing internationalization in education, establishing strategic partnerships with prestigious global institutions has become a key orientation. Transnational cooperation programs not only expand learning spaces and knowledge exchange but also create conditions for universities to share resources, governance experience, and develop global academic initiatives. The cooperation agreement between UEH and the University of Massachusetts Lowell is a strategic step aligned with the prevailing development trends of higher education in the new era.

Attending the ceremony from the University of Massachusetts Lowell was: Mr. John Feudo – Vice Chancellor for Development and Global Engagement.

From UEH, attendees included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung – UEH Interim President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao – Deputy Head of the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement; Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh – Dean of the Institute of Business Research; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Khoa – Director of the Business Administration Program, School of Management.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung, UEH Interim President, welcomed the delegation from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He emphasized that the cooperation agreement represents UEH's strong commitment to its educational internationalization strategy, reinforcing the goal of developing the University in line with its Multidisciplinary and Sustainable vision.

Mr. John Feudo, Vice Chancellor for Development and Global Engagement at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, expressed his appreciation and honor for the warm welcome from UEH and highly valued the potential for cooperation between the two educational institutions. He stated that the MOU between UEH and the University of Massachusetts Lowell lays the foundation for academic exchanges and opens opportunities for implementing long-term collaborative initiatives in training, research, and knowledge transfer.

As the focal point for promoting UEH's international academic cooperation, Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh – Dean of the UEH Institute of Business Research – discussed with the representative from the University of Massachusetts the potential for implementing high-quality research and training activities that meet the needs of learners and society.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UEH and the University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA) contributes to expanding UEH's strategic partner network in the United States and strengthens the foundation for long-term academic cooperation in an increasingly interconnected global higher education landscape. The partnership is expected to create numerous opportunities for knowledge exchange and the development of joint training and research programs aligned with international standards, thereby enhancing academic value and innovation capacity for both parties and contributing to affirming UEH's position on the regional and global education map.
