UEH Appoints and Assigns Tasks to Program Directors and Course Leaders

On September 3, 2026, at Campus A, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) held a Ceremony to hand over appointment decisions and assign tasks to Program Directors and Course Leaders. The event aimed to further strengthen the academic leadership team, enhancing their roles and responsibilities in managing and operating academic programs and course leaders, thereby ensuring and continuously improving the quality of education at UEH.

Appointment of 147 Programme Directors and Course Leaders

Based on the results of the personnel process carried out under Plan No. 3900/KH-ĐHKT-PTTCNL, the President of UEH signed decisions appointing 147 Programme Directors and Course Leaders (Course Leaders and Deputy Course Leaders) across 25 schools, institutes and training centres.

Ready to carry out training duties in the new academic year

As part of the programme, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đinh Thị Thu Hồng - Head of the Department of Academic Affairs shared information on the admissions and enrolment results for Cohort 52 full-time undergraduate students, as UEH enters its peak period of preparation for the 2026 - 2027 academic year.

Delivering his remarks and assigning duties, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bùi Quang Hùng - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of UEH emphasized that Programme Director and Course Leader are professional positions appointed by decision of the President of UEH, playing the role of supporting the President of UEH, the Rectors of member colleges and the Deans/Directors of schools and institutes in managing the core of UEH’s training activities. Each appointment as Programme Director or Course Leader lasts no more than three years. Programme Directors and Course Leaders carry out professional work in accordance with their assigned duties, under the coordination, assignment and direction of the Dean/Director of the school or institute.

The President of UEH assigned the leaders of the colleges, schools and institutes to direct and manage the work of Programme Directors and Course Leaders in accordance with the applicable regulations and procedures, while creating the conditions for them to fulfil their assigned duties. Alongside their responsibility for each training programme and course, Programme Directors and Course Leaders need to coordinate with their counterparts in implementing the shared plans of UEH, the colleges and the schools/institutes; and to organize the teaching staff involved in each training programme and course in line with UEH’s regulations and orientations. Throughout implementation, the requirement is to ensure quality as committed and to pursue continuous improvement and innovation, thereby enhancing the quality of training programmes and courses and the effectiveness of professional coordination across UEH.

On the basis of these defined roles and responsibilities, the President of UEH went through the specific tasks one by one, comprising 11 duties for Programme Directors and 7 duties for Course Leaders; he also assigned management, coordination and support responsibilities to the Boards of Management of the colleges, the Boards of Directors of the campuses, the leaders of schools and institutes and the relevant functional units, so that together with the Programme Directors and Course Leaders, this work can be carried out in a coordinated, consistent and effective manner in the period ahead.

This round of strengthening professional positions further consolidates the team directly involved in managing the core of training activities, working towards quality assurance, stronger coordination and continuous improvement across the entire UEH system.
