UEH attending the "Students Research International Conference for Young Researchers in Economics and Business 2024" (SR-ICYREB 2024)

On September 26-27, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) attended the annual “Students Research International Conference for Young Researchers in Economics and Business 2024” (SR-ICYREB 2024) held at Hue University of Economics, within the framework of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between universities in the field of Economics and Business. UEH was honored to have a research paper that won the “Best Paper Award” among the 10 best presentations at the conference.

SR-ICYREB 2024 is a forum for researchers, speakers, and students from universities/colleges of economics and business to exchange ideas and research results, thereby contributing to building a solid academic foundation. The conference is also an opportunity for students from different schools to exchange experiences as well as enhance domestic and international cooperation when pursuing their passion for scientific research in the new development context of the country.

Attending the conference, the delegation of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) included Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu - Deputy Head of Research - Development and Global Engagement, lecturer of the School of International Business and Marketing, along with 10 student groups presenting papers.

SR-ICYREB 2024 has related research contents from many fields such as Economics, finance, business administration, marketing, etc. with the orientation of sustainable development, applying advances in digital economy, sharing economy, industrial revolution 4.0, at the same time applying research on industry economics, local economy to meet development goals in the modern context. In addition, students coming to the conference also bring many new perspectives on methods, mechanisms and business environment to support businesses to achieve long-term development goals, meeting the Net Zero goal of their country in the upcoming time.

The conference also released a proceedings containing high-quality and highly applicable articles, with a total of 71 articles selected for presentation through 14 parallel sessions. The Organizing Committee selected and awarded the “Best Paper Award” to the 10 best presentations, of which UEH had 01 winning article “Investigating the effect of ESG performance and emission level on financial flexibility: Is being green worth it?” by a student group including Nguyen Vinh Tien, Pham Quynh Phuong Anh, Tran Trong Nhan, Huynh Thi Thuy Hang, Nguyen Mai Anh, guided by Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong.

In addition, before the opening session of the Conference, UEH students participated in a tour visiting Hue with interesting places such as Tu Duc Tomb, Huong Xuan Thuy Village and the Imperial City. Through the tour, the students learned more about the history as well as witnessed the beautiful and poetic scenery of Hue.

The Students Research International Conference for Young Researchers in Economics and Business 2024 (SR-ICYREB 2024) was successful, becoming an important milestone in scientific research cooperation for students between universities in the field of Economics and Business. This is an interesting playground for university students in general and UEH students in particular to exchange, learn and develop comprehensively.
