UEH Ceremony honoring UEH individuals and UEH collectives winning titles and awards of 2022 and appointing leadership personnel for the 2020-2025 term

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is walking on a new journey with many challenges called “Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University”. This journey requires pioneering, unremitting efforts from each individual and collective UEH. Therefore, UEH, in order to recognize these great contributions, on the morning of April 7, 2023, at Hall A.103, solemnly held a ceremony to honor individuals and units that won titles and awards of the year 2022.

UEH is the first University in Vietnam that has pioneered in altering the way of performance evaluation as well as bringing the voting, the emulation and the reward into practicality. As a result of that change, over the previous years, the work of emulation and commendation at UEH has absolutely motivated every individual in terms of the process of working and dedicating to UEH University. Promoting this spirit, this year, UEH voted and honored the collectives and individuals that won the titles and awards of 2022, including the following titles: “Unit of the Year”; “Lecturer of the Year”; “Manager of the Year”; “Employee of the Year” in addition to “Outstanding Scientific Research of the Year” Award.

With “The Community of change maker” Theme - UEH Award 2023 - wishes to convey the message: UEHer is not only an internal community but also expected to be the core team to unite stakeholders with the same aspirations together with the will to implement sustainable action goals.

From the TOP 12 list of each category, the UEH Emulation and Commendation Council voted the best Individual to win the title of each honorable category.

The title “Lecturer of the Year” was awarded to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Mai Dong – a Lecturer in Marketing Department - thanks to his outstanding efforts in working with Faculty Leaders to well implement digital transformation, business cooperation, training and teaching. He himself joined in UEH Advisory Committee bringing UEH into Top QSA 401+, achieving 07 internationally published articles, participating in Session Chairman of 10^th International Conference on Emerging Challenges (ICECH) as well as guiding scientific research for students that won B Prize.

The title “Manager of the year” was awarded to Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Head of UEH Department for Continuing Education with 01 initiative in 2022, Ministerial-level Emulation Fighter in 2022, leading the synchronous implementation and optimization of University enrollment regarding Working-Studying Mode and Full-time University regarding Undergraduate Updated Mode from College Level as well as Diploma 2.

With her excellent efforts at Journal of Asian Business and Economic Research, being a member of BTC UEH Day 2022 besides numerous contributions to UEH Trade Union, let congratulate MSc. Dao Thi Minh Huyen on being voted by the UEH Emulation-Commendation Council to be awarded “Employee of the Year” Title.

With the thickness of published scientific products, Dr. Nguyen Phuc Canh - Lecturer of UEH Faculty of Public Finance - was elected by UEH Emulation - Commendation Council for “Excellent Scientific Researcher of the Year” Award. Besides, “UEH Unit of the Year” Award was given to the following UEH collectives: UEH Department for Regular Training; UEH Faculty of Economics and Journal of Asian Business and Economic Research.

In 2022, 4 UEH lecturers were approved by Vietnam’s State Council of Professors towards recognizing the qualifications in terms of the Title of Associate Professor. In order to demonstrate the respect and the acknowledge towards the efforts of the newly-acknowledged Associate Professors during their work, teaching and scientific research, within the framework of the program, UEH solemnly held a Commencement Ceremony in announcing and awarding the appointing decisions in terms of Associate Professor Title in 2022 to: Assoc. 2022 year has been witnessing UEH’s outstanding achievements and transformation towards becoming a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University.
