Knowledge - A new development driver for Khanh Hoa
Aiming to become a smart city, a maritime economic hub, and a sustainable destination of Vietnam, Khanh Hoa has identified academic knowledge and a highly qualified workforce as strategic pillars in its development journey. To realize this vision, Khanh Hoa Province is pursuing a series of ambitious development orientations, institutionalized through key strategic resolutions:
- Resolution 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo sets out a long-term vision for Khanh Hoa to become a centrally governed city by 2045, developing toward a smart, sustainable, and internationally integrated urban model.
- Resolution 01-NQ/TU of Khanh Hoa Province, outlining the province’s development for the period 2025–2030, targets double-digit economic growth, built on four pillars (industry, energy, tourism–services, and urban–construction) and three breakthroughs to address development bottlenecks (infrastructure, human resources, and public investment).
From this strategic vision, the academic portal “Where Knowledge Converges” – has been officially introduced — the result of a cooperative strategy between UEH and Khanh Hoa Newspaper & Radio–Television, the province’s official mouthpiece.
Designed as a hub for connecting scholars and transferring scientific knowledge, the platform aims to serve key stakeholder groups within the province’s and region’s development ecosystem, including:
- Government agencies and policymakers: access to contemporary knowledge, global urban development lessons, and evidence-based policy insights;
- Enterprises: exposure to trends, models, and development solutions relating to the marine economy, tourism, and innovation;
- Youth: guidance toward sustainable career pathways, especially emerging fields linked to marine technology and the blue economy;
- Local communities: access to applied knowledge supporting resource conservation and strengthened community capacity for sustainable development.
Through these contributions, the platform serves as a comprehensive channel for knowledge dissemination, directly supporting the implementation of the province’s and region’s major development objectives aligned with key policy resolutions.
Exploring the marine knowledge ecosystem for Khanh Hoa at “Where Knowledge Converges”
“Where Knowledge Converges” is designed as an open knowledge ecosystem, focused on key content aligned with Khanh Hoa's development strategy, such as marine economy, resource management, sustainable tourism, green growth, and local digital transformation – thereby directly contributing to the realization of the province's resolutions and development strategies.
The three main content pillars include:
(1) Scientific knowledge
This section provides selected academic analyses and knowledge, translated into understandable formats and applicable to the practical context of marine and island life. Content revolves around 4 main groups:
- Economy: Solutions, trends, and development models for the marine-island economy, local economy, and green growth.
- Technology: Applications of technology, data, and digital transformation in marine resource management, tourism, and public services.
- Infrastructure: Sustainable coastal urban development, climate change adaptation, and human resource development for the marine economy.
- Governance: Governance models and policy mechanisms for the sustainable development of coastal communities.
(2)"Marine Future" News - Events
This section updates notable activities and events within the “Marine Future” ecosystem such as: seminars, discussions, research collaborations, community initiatives, and innovation programs for a sustainable marine future. It is where readers can follow the pulse of academic, creative, and developmental movements from UEH in Nha Trang and its journey alongside Khanh Hoa.
(3) Sustainable career orientation
Accompanying the young generation through information, trends, and career guidance in fields like the marine economy, sustainable tourism, marine technology, and emerging professions. The content is designed to help students and young people choose the right career path, becoming a green workforce for the future.

The launch of the academic portal “Where Knowledge Converges” not only marks a strategic advancement in the cooperation between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Khanh Hoa province but also demonstrates UEH's strong commitment to accompanying the locality through knowledge, science, and innovation. This is a crucial initial step in the journey of bringing academic knowledge closer to the community, contributing to shaping the foundation for sustainable development for Khanh Hoa in the new phase.
This commitment will be realized extensively and sustainably through the upcoming UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang – slated to commence operations in 2026. This is envisioned not just as an academic space but also as a pioneering "City University" model, where the university and the city co-develop, ensuring that knowledge is not only created but also generates tangible impact for Khanh Hoa and the region.
