UEH College of Business organizes a series of seminars "Narrowing the gap between theory and practice

On March 6-7, 2024, UEH College of Business (UEH - COB) launched the first seminars in a series of periodic seminars with the desire to create opportunities to exchange, share new research as well as practical experience between international scholars and lecturers and students.

On the side of UEH College of Business: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Thanh Trang – Associate Rector of UEH - COB; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong – Vice Rector of UEH - COB; and along with lecturers and students.

Opening the seminar series, Prof. Hsing Hao Wu - Professor of Financial and Economic Law (National University of Kaohsiung, Taiwan) shared the topic "Moving Towards Netzero Society: Taiwan's Experience.". Prof. Wu shares about zero net emissions, carbon pricing, carbon trading program, energy transition, ecological conservation, as well as the economic and social impacts of implementing energy transition policies and other carbon-related activities in Taiwan. and updates on the situation and policies in Vietnam.

Prof. Wu has been Director of NUK's Center for International Relations Studies since 2013. His recent research and publication focuses on climate change impacts to environment, economic, and society as a whole and their potential legal and institutional responses in the context of water resource management, flood control, disaster management, and energy transition.

Continuing the seminar series, Dr. Martin Koers, CEO of the Association of the Automobile Industry (Germany), has over 20 years of teaching experience and has held a variety of positions, including CEO of the Association of the German Automobile Industry (VDA) and Sales Director. Ford Europe/Ford Werke AG Cologne's Sales and Brand Director gave and offered an overview of theory and practical experience in brand management, with an emphasis on the vehicle sector and the success and leadership aspects of the German automobile industry.

The seminars were a success, thanks to a concise presentation and a positive academic exchange atmosphere. College of Business intends to hold seminars on a monthly basis in order to bridge the gap between theory and practice, as well as to provide chances for multidimensional sharing and exchange among instructors, students, and the network.
